New Woolworths Rewards App

Effectively $5 for downloading.

Unsure if I want to be tracked by EDR.
Now three accounts have received the 3k point offer for downloading, activating offer and spending by Dec 22nd.

Sell our souls to EDR for 9K points? Hmmm ...

I had 4 accounts receive this earlier this afternoon and I've had the EDR app installed for a while now and have logged into the app on each of the accounts.

I've logged in on a couple of the accounts (and uninstalled and re-installed) and don't see anywhere in the Boost section or anywhere else about the 3000 point promo. Am I missing something?

I had the offer about a week ago, and found it wasn't in the EDR app but had to download the new woolworths app instead which was where I found the bonus. I have no idea if the new woolies app is replacing the EDR app or not?

OK, I've made a boo boo. It was the Woolworths App, not the EDR app this had to go through. I had the Woolworths App with an account for one of the EDR accounts, so I went in from there and found where to boost it, so all good and in the Woolworths App it showed that as a boosted item and the other few that I had boosters I'd boosted from the EDR App, but in the EDR App the 3000point offer is not displayed.

Went and created Woolworths accounts for the other EDR accounts that received the offer and did the same.

And whilst doing this, 2 more come through. So 6 transactions should net 18k points.

+1 with the 3,000 points offer.

Interestingly I've had a couple of offers recently (mainly bonus points per dollar on particular brands of products) that haven't been available on the EDR app but available through Woolies. Maybe they'll be making different offers through each app?

If you have eGift cards on the Woolworths Money App, Be Careful!

I received the 3,000 point offer so I downloaded the Woolworths App and somehow the Money App has disappeared (together with my eGift cards!).

Now I'll have to go back through my emails to try and find them; what a pain!

That would really rot your socks. Hope you did keep your emails. I file them in a folder just in case.

I'm really struggling with the app and determining what bonus points have been credited when shopping at Woolworths. The app doesn't give a run down of what bonus points have been credited e.g. 300 points for item a and 200 points for item b. The Flybuys app does this.

A lot of press on the news tonight.

I'm not sure if scanning a QR code is easier than tapping my phone twice (once for WW reward, once for CC).

If it was one tap using NFC then that would be an improvement.

Its an mprovement for me, using -4% WW gift card (via Amex purchase on RACQ). Scan QR gets me both ER points and payment via gift card (hopefully Essentials loadable soon). NFC would be better.

I like the new gift card management approach. It allows you to add the gift cards in a "pool" which it automatically splits vs your CC (unless your pooled balance covers the whole transaction).

Super useful with the recent bonus points for 5 x GCs which are now just one big pool of money in the app. Means I can get rid of the WW Money app which held GC values individually now.

Not for me (Android). I still have the WW Money app.

Enabling NFC with gift cards would be an improvement.
As much as I agree, with Google Pay enabled as well I rarely know what exactly I am paying with nowadays unless I load the specific card / app I want which kind of defeats the purpose.

I wish NFC would trigger a menu of cards to choose from on the terminal like swiping an EFTPOS card does with savings / cheque / etc but it just goes ahead and does what it wants most of the time.

Does that mean no more entering gift card PINs?

That's why I use Samsung Pay. You can see what you're paying with.

Glad to hear it pools similar cards.

The next step is for the app to open and load the card when clicking the link in an email as it does for the Money app curently.

The problem I see with the new app is that where I have two apps on the phone with two linked ER accounts, I have to enter the gift cards in both apps.

Think it's too much for the IT dept to handle at the moment.

Sometimes even that link with the money app doesn't work. It's hit and miss depending on the source of the gift card.
