New Woolworths Rewards App

Note that the transaction on my credit card for the Everyday Pay comes up as unrecognised category. It means that I’m only getting base points instead of the correct number of points for using my card at a supermarket. Beware

Great! Clicking on a new gift card link from email app on my phone now dosn't load the gift card into either the Woolworths Money app or the wallet section of the Everyday Rewards app. FAIL!

Secondly, the Everyday Rewards app won't read the bar code of the gift card from a computer screen (at least not that of my Surface Pro 7) so I have to resort to typing in the card number and PIN manually.

Backwards steps WOW, backwards steps! Clearly, the QF work eperience IT mob are working at Woolies at the moment and, true to form, are not testing anything before rolling it out.

Went to check out the app O/S and it doesn't work. Gives an access denied message.

Yeah I tried scanning too from a screen and didn't work. Didn't have problem with other barcodes on screen.

Just tried it at the manned checkout. The QR code on the keypad display rotates with other messages. So have to wait until it comes up.

Also I had a bonus Woolies gift card that has an expiry date. It doesn't use that gift card first.

Won’t let you add gift cards until you add a CC.

But when I tried to add a CC it’s wouldn’t take it.

Barriers to use are too high. Fail.
Sorry it isn't working for you, but I think this is a bad take.

Yes, it requires a CC before it allows GC added. From that point onwards, it pools your GC balance and automatically splits it to CC if it's not enough for the purchase. To me, the logic is both sound and much better than manually having to split GC purchases as we've had to do in the past.

Does it? I had two Woolies GCs loaded and they were listed separately.
It is how the entire UI has been designed:

You don't need to take my word for it, the front page will give you your GC balance and by default it will apply them before the attached CC. There was also a popup I got explaining all of this before I even added my CC.

I agree, updated mine. Used it twice this weekend and worked flawlessly

I just checked mine and the correct points are coming through for supermarket spends (DJs Amex)

That's not a helpful summary when you have gift cards for different stores (Woolies, Big W and petrol, in my case) and within that it still lists gift cards of the same type separately, which is not what I would expect from the concept of 'pooling'.

Why not? It lists my cards separately too but treats them as one balance when paying. If yours doesn't - you might want to either post a screenshot to show what you're referring to or contact WW support, but it's pretty clear that this is the point of the app from the way it presents it as shown above.

I'd prefer to see the individual store GCs listed at the top level, with the CC, not buried away inside a GCs section. There are too many clicks, the app is too slow and the transaction history is blank.

Has anyone received the 5x Bonus points for using the new easy pay function? I haven’t received a thing in 2 weeks of use!

It is hit and miss for me. I contacted the ER support team today and they quoted this part of the T&C's

Given that's 14 business days and the offer doesn't end until 5th June, the earliest we can request credit for missing points will be around the start of July
