One has to wonder if we had to provide proof of ID before boarding domestic flights, would this have occurred?
Having said that, Mr Andrews's statement that they hadn't thought of this occurring really takes the cake. Who the heck is in charge over there - one would think that an ability to think outside the box and look at a "worst-case scenario" (i.e., Kiwis board a flight from the state in which they land and then travel onwards to MEL) was *not* outside the realm of possibility?
However, it is not only the Victorian government that should be held to account; the Australian government should be as well. Anyone thinking that this could never happen is as naive as it comes - guess they were drinking the "Bubble Cool-Aid" and the Covidiot effect took hold . . .
Watch this travel bubble evaporate faster than the ones my youngest niece loves blowing around the house.
