Next Qantas CEO: Vanessa Hudson

The sooner he's gone the sooner we can reJoyce.
Just months to go.

Perhaps Alan will find suitable future opportunities in China or North Korea...

I still can't believe this is news. Unless and until Alan Joyce leaves Bourke Street I frankly won't believe this alleged "announcement".

It doesn’t matter what you believe. It’s happening.
Although he will be leaving Coward St Mascot not sure where Bourke comes into it.

I checked. There's a Starbucks in Bourke Street Melbourne. It may be the one that recognises World Platinums - though I'm not ever going near the place to check.

Although there is a Bourke Street in Surry Hills, Sydney - a "funky, cosmopolitan hotbed for aesthetes and the design devou" - perhaps Mr Joyce may spend some time there after he departs QFs Mascot HQ after the AGM in November - but this remains unconfirmed.

I find it somehow hard to believe Uncle Alan is leaving coward.
Qantas have announced it to the ASX. It's also on their website. Not sure why you are having trouble believing it.
Maybe that is so, only time will tell in this instalment of Succession! Regardless I wish Ms. Olivia Wirth the best as new CEO of Qantas come this November. Whoops, looks like my Goyder popped! 🤣

I think the OP meant (10) Bourke Road, Mascot which is correct.

Total return won't go any earlier than this unfortunately, but 23 years is a decent sample size.

Interesting figures. Looking at the QAN total return graphs vs the ASX200 total return graph easy to see the contributions of:
- Near monopoly QAN had on domestic traffic (Q4 2001 - 2004)
- GFC (2008)
- Price/capacity war with VA (2011-2017) and ending of this (2018-19)
- Impact of COVID

I think the two big take homes are that, once they settled into a cosy duopoly with VA instead of fighting for market share, huge boost, and that COVID shock will mean that QAN long term return will lag ASX200 for a long time.
