Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

Well, the bottle on the left should be right up your alley. The bottle on the right has been open since yesterday, and I'm still scratching my head as to what they put in it - it's still tannin central, though it has noticeably softened since yesterday. I'm hoping it'll be drinkable by tomorrow! The Elderton on the other hand is still a big, bold shiraz - oak and plums on the nose, but red fruits and spices on the palate. Tannins not quite super soft yet, but that might be a holdover from the Parker. Still going very strong and I think needs more time. Will leave some for tomorrow.

AC , I think most of us would be impressed with your cellar. You keep pulling out some good old stuff.

It's gone for me too. Oh well. The mof_ drought continues. It sounded like a Northern Rhone style of wine, and one I might enjoy. I'm sure it will pop up again if they didn't (really) sell out this afternoon.

She's got the Jack, jack, jack, jack, she's got the Jack.
My 2013 Jack Contraband Deal Shiraz should land today so that Sunday night with Thai will give an insight into this multi lauded wine. That could be your next Fo phone call discussion point Wozza.
Great drinking for you this week. Just need to finish it off with a Kangas victory tonight. I need Alzoam to get stuck into his reds after the Swannies lose.

Tannins don't soften with breathing.

Menu from the Warrabilla lunch in CBR last weekend, Andrew said it was the first one they had ever done, hope they do more, although I would prefer evenings rather than lunch. Menu cut off at the bottom as I had written some things there.

Liked the Marsanne, not so much the Riesling, the reds were all superb, wines marked with an asterisk are unavailable, but notice there is a 2013 Parola's Cab sav and Durif. Couple of typos, as he said first time! Anyway Riesling was 2015 and the Reserve and Parola's Durif were 2013, if I remember correctly :)

Perhaps I was a bit full by the end as the Muscat was for me a bit much. Doesn't help when a couple on our table weren't big red drinkers and their share wasn't going to waste.

An all time favourite. Full bodied but smooth and well structured. Great value for money, wish I got more last year during DM's cellar release.

Damn I didn't know about this year's sale :(

Did you like it?

The price seemed OK for good quality champagne so I've got a few bottles as well but didn't open any yet.

We really liked it when we had it on a QF flight, this was the first time on the ground and it's good. It's rich and buttery. A bit like Bollinger.

An interesting Merlot last night - nothing compared to the 04 Irvine last week but enjoyable all the same

Had this Riesling with a chicken dish earlier in the week. This is the first white I have ever enjoyed or purchased for that matter - thanks to Buzz and the Rockford visit

And you seriously don't think the CH is a step up? Won't be trusting your TNs post MELCAN III! ;)

I have a soft spot for Bolly so nothing will ever beat it as my favourite. That doesn't mean I don't think the CH is amazing. I actually find them very similar.
