Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

Chateau Margaux on EK F? What????
I’ve flown it quite a few times and seen some impressive wines but never something like that!

Since when they serve these insane vintages?!
Yes. Was very happy with my carafe.

Unlike QF, EKF does reward F fliers with what one “should” expect for that sort of money.

Not to mention the 100 point Robert Parker Spanish white, Dom P2, Henassay Paradis...

That was on offer last Sunday as well. When I commented on how the decanter still had a reasonable amount in it at 2pm the reply was "I can usually find more". My reply was that I was now going to match my flying with the server's roster! Which they proceeded to tell me!:cool:
There was still wine in the decanter when we left the lounge at 7pm.

Ah joy oh joy. May shipment from Gibbston Valley due 15 May never arrived. APost tracking says on way, reached Everton Park mail centre on May 16, due for delivery next day. Nope. No delivery, no info, local PO has no idea.

Did online enquiry a week ago, no response.

Rang them today to be told after some stuffing around that parcels had been damaged in transit and they had contacted sender for instructions since they were responsible for insurance.

So nice of APost to notify me. Excellent service not.

To celebrate the arrival of my mags. and double mags. opened a few old and new hunter after some pizza.

Hell hole shiraz tasted funny, lot of reviews talked about bretts, maybe that's it, still 1/3 of a bottle left for the second night, both fruit and the funny taste disappeared, still enjoyable.

Steven shiraz quite tide, soften down during the night, i still couldn't tell the difference between leathery and earthy when drinking a aged hunter shiraz.

mother shiraz is a new wine from tyrrells, cuttings from all the sacred sites, great fruit and little oak used, anyone having problems of drinking hunter reds young, try this, would change your mind.

Blue poles cab merlot blend, green nose quite noticable , probably opened this too early but 2nd night is a charm, plenty of fruit and long finish.

hoddles creek pinot, oh boy, light and clear , not too sweet at first but the last sip is the best, should start drinking them soon.

Thomas kiss, still quite oaky, fruit still very much the same, when hunter shiraz mix with new oak(lots), it taste like bassrosa shiraz but not as enjoyable.

It’s a school night but we had a special occasion to celebrate tonight. My wife grabbed this from FirstChoice. She was so proud that she earned both Flybuys and Amex points (she knows how I learnt from AFF how to turn these into J seats).
It was delightful, a very full mouth and long dry finish. $55 on special.

Part two of school night: a 4.5 rating on Vivino. Gave it a 90 minute breathe. It was delicious, still very powerful with a full mouth of blueberry, cigar, and coffee grounds.

And act 3: something we grabbed when visiting the King Valley.
A delicious drop much appreciated on a cold Brisbane night (probably 16degrees).
