Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

The Signature - such a good and reliable wine :)
Is that a '16? Apparently already approachable?
Love Signatures. 5 years is about right. This was drinking beautifully. Next night we had the 2016 from a magnum and had not developed as well so really needed another 3-4 years. But that’s magnums for you.

2013 Etna Rosso and the 2010 montestefano showed best in Xmas. The pdb “10 and “12 are nowhere near ready to drink.

Both ruggabellus are 2012, very sexy for a gsm blend, the Shaw and smith Shiraz was the big surprise, nicely done, nothing is overdone. for the 2 semillon, I just wish I have more, the 99 cork soaked half way, great length.

sadly there was a few nights that needs a postpone, hoping to continue in the next few days.

Some really nice drops! The Shaw + Smith is one of my favourites. Alas I don’t get to drink it that often.

That was the last vintage I bought for Shaw+smith, should of crack a bottle back then instead of throwing it down the dark hole.

Brilliant Italians last night. (Edi Keber white from near Gorizia made from a blend of 70% Friulano with 15% each of Ribolla Gialla and Malvasia, and Pio Cesare Barbaresco from Alba. Pio Cesare needed some time to lose a little oxidative aromas like many Italian wines but was fabulous.)

Was the '15 quintet drinking well? I have some '12 and '17 and am wondering when to neck it...

All depends how you like your wine. It was certainly approachable but still very young. I like my Cabernet blends with more age personally, so if it were I'd wait. If you have several of the' 12s you can always crack one and see for yourself.

Thanks. Good steer, I hate opening a good wine too young. I have a single '12 and two '17s. I got the '12 out and looked at it hard on NYE, but it went back... I figure I'm waiting!
