I have used Row 16 on several occasions and find there are no issues with the cold. Asa you mention this can be an issue but not in this situation from my experience.

There is no charge for exit row seating in J.
Agree with others that the temperature upstairs doesn't vary with location.
I have sat in 11,13,16,17 on various flights and not noticed a temperature variation.

It may seem strange with me coming from BNE, but I like it colder rather than warmer. My hotel room thermostat is set to 19 degrees right now ;). But I have not noticed row 16 being any colder than anywhere else.

Is there a good seat in PE on the new 3 class config 747s - e.g. QF5?

29K is taken. I'm thinking 29J, [-]31/32D[/-] or aisle in one of the pairs 30A/B 30J/K 31A/B that are showing open on expert flyer at the moment. This is advice for mum, by SMS, when she lands in SIN later tonight. (seems my space available upgrade might go to a good home)

Hi I'm curious about 5E/F on the A333 - what are the main reasons behind recommending middle seats? Thanks for the great guide!

Middle seat pairs have the benefit that generally no-one has to climb over or be climbed over should one of the occupants need to access the aisle. Especially useful if the other is trying to sleep.

That's one of the reasons why I expect 3E/F on the reconfigured 3 class QF 744ER's to become extremely popular.
