It's the "supply chain"...........
Yes. That's where I get to. Pushed all the risk on to the supplier with just in time delivery and a lack of QF management oversight to know there was a problem looming. You can blame the supplier but it is the philosophy of management that gets the business to that point and the customer experience in the toilet. Carry that bit of extra stock and there would be no issue.
Of course it could be something completely different but nothing else springs to mind for such a fundamental failure for such a rudimentary item.

So I believe there maybe enough supplies from syd-singapore.
Upon landing, an announcement was made to advise those returning to the plane to take their headsets with them, so that they can reuse the headsets enroute to LHR.

Still not a good occurence … imagine being on one of those ultra long haul routes!

Did you end up bringing your own?

This happen on my flight SYD - MML on 13/04/22. We were in J and had headphones but the cabin manager apologised to the people in Y over the intercom twice. Said that ground crew had forgotten to load it and since we were already +30 min delayed couldn't wait for it. This was back in April, can't believe it's still happening now.

I thought the sockets on the newer aircraft were such that they’d accept a normal headphone jack without an adaptor?

Just get a bluetooth transmitter (like this) and an audio flight adapter.
IMHO, one more "thing" to carry/lose.
For flying you ideally want headphones that at least have a wired option assuming you want to use in-flight entertainment.
XM4s are wireless and also come with wire cable for 3.5mm use (mic and sound) and aircraft adapter. All in all very versatile.

I thought there was a pre-departure Cabin Crew task to ensure that all "necessities" had been loaded? Surely these would be checked prior to the commencement of boarding - sounds like an excuse that they simply weren't available from stores.
