No more JQ35 SYD-MEL on Saturdays?

If you did MEL-SYD-MEL on a Friday, up on JQ36 and back on JQ35, (breakfast and lunch FLounging), could you go through the transfer desk at Sydney to save the hassle of going out through immigration and then back in?

I don’t think JQ would print your boarding pass a day ahead, and you wouldn’t get it at the transfer desk.

Would be good for Mexicans wanting a Saturday night stay in SYD as they could take JQ36 northbound on Sat then fly southbound on the Sun on JQ35 so they would be able to Flounge in both MEL & SYD.

If you live in SYD it's a reverse Flounge run as you'd fly domestically to MEL on your carrier of choice then fly MEL/SYD on Sun using the MEL Flounge instead of the SYD one.
And how would this stop the "BNE people"?

Fly to BNE-MEL on Saturday morning followed by MEL-SYD on Saturday afternoon. Overnight in SYD and then fly SYD-MEL sunday afternoon followed by MEL-BNE on Sunday evening.

Requires an extra positioning flight but I do not believe "costs" were ever a consideration for the "BNE" crowd.

Costs always factored in. It was about maximising the value of the day, taking into account how much food and drink of a high quality one could consume, by comparing the average price you would have received at a restaurant. At least that was how I went about things, especially when on a non-earning JQ flight.

I meant up and back on the same day, which is possible on a Friday.

Can you get a JQ boarding pass at the transfer desk?

If we did them on Sunday's could bring the family along,

It's back, from June 23rd onwards.

And back to the excellent 3pm timeslot!
