No more lounge access [@NRT] for Jetstar business Max Customers

Re: No more access for Jetstar business customers to Qantas business lounges??

There's some very poor wording on the JetStar page re lounge access:

Business Class passengers with Qantas Club membership can access the Qantas Club lounges when travelling on Jetstar. Upgrade to Business Class Max for access to any lounge.

My bolding. Reading this it might be (wrongly) construed that if you had Qantas Club and a Business Max package you could access the F lounge.

Re: No more access for Jetstar business customers to Qantas business lounges??

Or, one could just ring jet* and ask!?

Yes but the OP implied a total lounge access loss. Seems MEL will still be available and QF might even extend its hours a bit.

...
Yes - as indicated I suspect there seemed to be something lost in translation here.

Thread title changed for now ... pending clarification from OP ...

I spoke to JQ about this. There's still access in MEL, none in NRT from April (forget exact date) because JQ flights are moving to new LCC T3.

As per part #15 the move is for flights from April 8th.

I arrive into NRT on GK on April 6th, two days earlier.

JQ replied to my tweet with "there is currently no changes to our bundle offerings."

Well, if you now try to book to/from NRT (after April 8th?), you'll note that lounge access is omitted in the NRT J Max bundle description (at NRT).

Re: No more access for Jetstar business customers to Qantas business lounges??

No, it was definitely the Jetstar booking service centre.
Ah, but remember how they simply deleted the Chauffer Drive service from pax who had booked with it :-|

To the OP. Today was St Patrick's day. Did you happen to hear a peal of Irish laughter in the background of the call?

Re: No more access for Jetstar business customers to Qantas business lounges??

I was actually only thinking of the mel Q lounge. She (operator) gave me to understand there would be no access to it for business max customers after a certain date in April.

Oh, so that's what she meant!! Thank you very much for sorting this out VB. Why on earth the call centre person could not state this fact I cannot understand!!

Re: No more access for Jetstar business customers to Qantas business lounges??

Perhaps they get the call centre people in Malaysia or wherever it is to design it!

That's just what I did after I got their 'phone bank message; result- confusion & misinformation.

Having last week flew back on JQ24 NRT - MEL I can confirm that JQ will use the new T3 next month when it opens..... Resulting in no Qantas Lounge Access at T2 anymore for passengers on JQ.

Looks like the recently announced new flights from Qantas on the SYD > HND sector
(Obviously with a domestic connection For us folk in MEL) is the way to go !

Thank you Cool Cat Phil.

No problems.

Not exactly the best news for people with status ( or Qantas club membership for that mattter) flying Jetstar international departing Narita I must say.

On my day of travel last week I believe in excess of 30 people were in the Qantas Narita lounge who travelled back on JQ24 to MEL.

Clearly these people will be disappointed.

JQ is perfectly fine leaving MEL , particularly with the late departure time of JQ 23 @ around 11:30pm, but the return sector on JQ24 leaving Narita at Midday is not overly appealing & with no lounge access at NRT..... I'll book with the Red Roo on my next trip to Japan I suspect.

The QP in T2 could still be open (it's open 08:30-21:30 today). But it's not in T3, so I guess they will just close it outside QF flight hours. As per past QF decisions.

I suspect that QF will keep their NRT lounge open for most of the day..... Both Finnair & KLM use the QF lounge as well for their flights that depart in the middle of the day.

Seems that T3 is a few minutes walk from T2. Not sure about the airside access. It might mean that those with QP access when flying Jetstar could still use it as long as they get to the T3 gate on time.

MH also uses this lounge, and operates MH71 three times a week departing at 21:40.

And there are no boarding bridges in T3, apparently.

Exactly what I want to know! I guess we'll know after April. Plans of airport look like no airside though
