Could not agree more and always was annoyed when this ugly duckling was waiting on the gate for one of my flights usually on the SYD-DFW route... Again! :o

But of course, tastes are different!

I'm with you... Never liked it

I am going to miss Wunala Dreaming! We flew WD on our very first flight to the USA, and every time we happened to see it whilst driving past the airport or just happened to see it flying around, it would remind us of that trip. Good memories big bird.

Obviously with my user name I am pretty annoyed they are getting rid of the scheme - it is the most photographed aircraft in the world and you can't buy that publicity.

Whether you think the design looks good or not, it does draw attention. Special schemes do generate attention but the decals that are attached to various aircraft just don't do it for me. It gets boring looking at the same livery over and over again and it can make a trip just a little mundane.

I still remember the "Sunshine" F27 of Ansett, exactly the same colour scheme, only wherever it was white on Ansett, it was Bright Yellow on "Sunshine". It was done up to promote the Maroochydore service of Airlines of NSW, as it was then. Although the aircraft was exactly the same bar the paint, you always got that special feeling, knowing your aircraft was unique. Kind of a magic of flying something different

It is still not confirmed the a/c is getting a full repaint, so maybe many are jumping the gun with this rumor.

Yes that is very much the case, we will find out Ina few months when she heads home for the refit!

How long has the paint job for Wunala dreaming been in service.

Wow. Long time in paint shop. Is it getting a refit inside too?
Well, l would like to see it come out same as it went in, but it seems like that might not be the case??

The pattern seems to be a few weeks in China getting a D check then another 6 weeks in AVV getting the interior refit done although some have skipped the Chinese trip:

I am also surprised that the Unions haven't come out and said the new paint job painted by OVERSEAS labour will affect air safety :!:

I got the impression from this thread that the painting would be done at AVV along with the fit out. :?:

Sent from my iPhone using Aust Freq Fly app so please excuse the lack of links.

No they have been painting in China whilst doing the major service, then they come back for the refit in Avalon.

It is just in China for the paint - it then flies back to Avalon for refit. That is what happened with OEI (the second aircraft). OEG already had been flying with the new livery for a few months before going into the hangar for the refit.
