No reply to disrespectful manner in which Qantas Club access was denied

indeed the fact he usually wears a suit is irrelevant.

The way I read it is he does not usually wear a suit. That's why he had "trouble" using it because he thought he had to wear a suit but he was usually in smart casual and so wouldn't use the lounge.

Firstly, welcome to the forum. In this instance it appears you didn't meet the criteria for entry. Everything else you wrote is only important yourself and come across poorly. If you can be bothered, perhaps a follow up letter requesting an update. The simple option is to move on.

Something worth noting for all lounge goers, not just the intellectual elitists.

The bar is set quite low for Qantas Club membership. It can be had for only a few hundred dollars, or comes free with a moderate amount of flying.

Any "club" with membership requirements that are so easily met is likely to contain people you wouldn't normally like to associate with. Whether it be hi-vis wearers, DYKWIA types, or BBQ attendees (wtf on that last point, seriously?).

I somehow don't think the bar was set low on purpose. I get the feeling that with the "Great unwashed " flying more often the idea of status and the target market has shifted more quickly than QF can cope with. That being said , the T&C on dress and behaviour are quite specific , but seem not to be enforced, at least not always. I think that "travelling clothes" do not necessarily constitute a suit and tie. Casual trousers/ jeans , collard shirt and closed comfortable shoes are a reasonable expectation.
I understand that for some flying from home direct to a mine site, boots and Hi Viz are the uniform required , and as such we have to deal with it.
However flying back the other way it should be easy enough to grab a shower, change shirt and trousers for the inevitably dirty mine soiled gear ........in any event we are very fortunate to have a lounge experience like QF. Because my limited ( U.S.) experience is that the equivalent is a far cry from the pleasures we enjoy in Oz happy flying

"Intellectual elitist" flying Jetstar - can't be that smart then.

Oh I don't know - he's smart enough to start a troll thread that has so far attracted nearly 50 responses, including more than one moderator warning. :D

The Moderation Team have decided to close this thread for the moment. If anyone has any new information (which is not deliberately provocative), please PM a mod or myself and we can update the thread.
