[not] Last 734 flight send off! 15th Feb

Perhaps a send off could involve waving to the aircraft from the comfort of the lounge as opposed to travelling on her

ADL Plane spotting is better from the cooper's bar.

50% bonus points for me means I would get 1000* ADL-MEL.

Ha! When the last scheduled flight was talked about on the Facebook group a week or two back, the suggestion of a send off meet with equal disinterest!

Mentioned is flight to the Qantas Heritage Collection Curator today and he seemed interested, and would see if there'd be anything special for the last flight as they're the last Australian Airlines (or perhaps another former part of Qantas, I forgot) planes. So it's special, and something could be put on for it.

In other news, anyone doing the 'tour' before the Christmas party will be impressed with what they've got behind the scenes. I left with some light reading material spanning 1919-1970!! Very grateful though.

I just realised this conflicts with the GC BBQ argh!

Had to look at my calendar (instead of the empty iMac calendar in the J lounge calendar) after I booked!

Sam and I will probably be enjoying spotting in the tower before our flight, albeit with a non existent drinks service!

If you can organise that, I know a third in ADL that'd go nuts (in a good way) if you could arrange access.

That said, I'll have to head back to the bar at some point!

Any ideas re: MEL? I notice QF didn't extend their sale like they usually do.

I'm not sure I would bother flying to ADL just to get on the 734, but will keep the date in mind.

I must've misread, thought Sam was not doing it. It's a weekend, I can always do this sorta thing in ADL on weekends. (No need for tower spotting, bar and all that, even if that'd be rather good). Might drag the kids along.

shame they won't sub the flight number for that day for QF 734. If it had that flight number and some sort of recognition was planned I would be all in.

(Actually just realised it could clash with a SIN Airshow trip a certain AFF'er has convinced me to do)

I am out...

V day weekend and would be in dog house with SWMBO

Are they retiring two on the same day? QF690 is listed as a 734 as well ...

I've just had a look at the latest timetable and QF692 is now listed as a B738 on 15 February while another quick browse shows QF819 being operated by a B734 on 23 February?
