You will never know what you dont know about travel ideas if you dont try a get together.
I am in Sydney that weekend anyway for business so it can be really interesting to get your mind out of the same old same old.
We have some very experienced flyers in our community.

*bump*

Finally sorted out accommodation - Din Tai Fung didn't agree with me last time I was there, so my vote would be for Hurricane's (and it looks like there's one item on the menu I can actually eat, which helps :p)

Been speaking with the fine folk at Hurricanes as the larger tables are booked. Their suggestion was to come in as walk in's and wait at the bar for a table to become free (and if we arrived early might not be too long)!

So that is one option, but any other ideas?

We did 2 tables at the Rydges in Melbourne and we moved around between courses and drinks without any problem.

May I offer the following:

- On a Saturday night, Hurricanes can be very noisy, as it turns into a nightclub fairly early. I've a funny feeling they don't take bookings on a Saturday night (but I maybe wrong), as I often see long queues.
- DTF may also involve waiting time.
- I've a Starwood Privilege coupon which discounts drinks and meals. Drinks are 15% and meals depend on how many people.

I don't know about my attendence yet, I may have a big work implementation going in that evening.

Indeed. I am looking at other options in the Darling Harbour area.

What about somewhere else around the King Street Wharf area? eg: Nick's Bar & Grill.

Close to Darling Harbour, and also has a few watering holes in close proximity (such as the James Squire Brewery).

We have a booking!

7p.m. November 13.

I didn't know I had a restaurant up there?? ;)

My attendance will be provisional on how my daughter is feeling, if she is tired i may have to skip. but then she does love seafood!

Cool.

Nick's Seafood is nicer than Nick's Bar - but it's also a bit pricier from memory (I suggested Nick's Bar & Grill because it seemed comparable to Hurricanes and I didn't know what people wanted to spend).

But I'm just as happy with that choice :)

The seafood platter for two there is exceptional.

Nick, maybe you can organise a discount for us :D

Nick's Bar and Grill had an exclusive booking that night - which ruled out any chance of us going there (I've worked my way down a list!)

Aah that explains it then :)

Well, the dinner should be excellent. I have a lunch as well on Saturday, so I'll try to save room :D

l'm looking pretty good work wise. Please put me down as an 85% chance of coming, if that is possible.

Cheers
