[Offer Closed]: Citibank Gold NO ANNUAL FEE FOR LIFE

Hi One9, thanks for your comments.

With regards to depositing funds to the broker account, I don't mean using a credit card through BPAY payment method. Some brokers also offer payment method by charging the credit card directly (VISA/MasterCard). It is up to the issuer to determine if they class it as a Purchase or Cash Advance. If anyone else has tried it, please advise.

Thanks!

After spending some time to read the whole thread, I've also applied the card last week before the long weekend. I've seen 2 links from here previously, however, only 1 seem working, which is https://www.citibank.com.au/cardsoffer/offers/200607_DDP76HYD.htm I could submit successfully and return with a reference number. The other one just told me not successful.

I'm still waiting for response from the bank, wish me luck to get this great card. Anyone can tell me how much time it will take to get it approved?? Thanks.

This is a US issued card - Correct me if Im wrong on this but Citibank Australia does NOT issues business cards.

No, I have an Australian Citibank Business card with 1:1.25 points. Problem is it is capped at 80K points and unlike some other posters who have said that they often don't enforce this, with me thay did most strickly. So for the moment I have a credit limit of $24K and a balance of $0 because there is no point using it. Their loss. CBA Platinums gain.:(

I find that the enforcement of Citi's 'limit' is random. I have a regular Citi VISA Gold with a credit limit of $40K. I was capped about 3 years ago so moved most of my spending to Amex with the residual going to another bank's Visa card. This year I have hit the cap but no enforcement has been evident yet. Still, Citi kicked at least one own goal because I now find that my first preference is to use Amex because of what they did a while ago.

Citi needs to clarify its position on this - does it cap or not? Until I know for sure, I will be suspicious about the Citi rewards system.

Still, it takes quite a bank to chalk up a pre-tax loss of US$17 billion, doesn't it? Ouch. Citi's share price has halved since June 2007. A massive drop and much more than most of the major world banks over the same period. What do investors know about Citi that we don't?

Finally got my card today, the letter says it's $0, I also called up card centre, the Indian lady checked for my card, and confirmed it's no annual fee for life and still got the reward program attached. Sounds promising...

Has anyone been able to access the link to the Citibank Fee Free for life as I have tried a few times and have got to the end of the application and then been told there is a system error and to try again later.

Has this offer been removed from Citibank?

It may be a good idea to close this thread and start a new thread with the latest link to the offer. There are a lot of redundant links and a lot of posts for someone new wanting to take advantage of the offer.

Almost every second post is someone asking for the current link or if the offer is still available.

Feel free to start a new thread wit all the relevant info and I will happily put this one to rest in peace.

I was just thinking how good a thread this has been for Citibank.

I bet that they have not closed the offer because the quality of applicants that apply through it is of quite a high standard. I would think that the average AFF user is higher than average income and credit history.

Last month, Citibank offered to increase my credit limit, and it made me think that I must have applied using this offer around a year ago.

I am glad you received your card in short time [10 days?]

Have just tried the link above - which arrives at the Citibank offer page to select either Visa or Mastercard - and found that the Java links to take you forward do not work. This may be my computer which i will reboot / try another computer.

Possibly could be that Citibank has removed the offer - but this seems improbable if 10 days ago the call centre confirmed your inclusion in the 'no fee program'. Albeit, when you loose a fortune, certain things are going to go.

Will keep you informed as to my progress - which may include a call to Citibank cards group tomorrow.

I just tried, and all 4 links worked, I eventually got to the pages asking for my personal details

Thanks Chicken. Yes, confirming the links do work.

After closing my multiple open windows and rebooting my computer - i have successfully been granted a reference number for a 'conditionally approved' card.:)

Thanks to everyone for keeping this tread alive and updating the links. I finally applied recently, first to get a good transfer rate and second because of the annual fee free deal. Took Citibank about 5 working days for the card to be mailed.

They then called me looking for referals to other friends and family I knew who would like the same deal. They said they would approve them on the spot. This was after they gave me a huge credit limit. Seems at least one bank isn't having a credit problem

Most likely the people applying for this promotion are higher earners who suit the program. You can't seem to find the link to the right webpage via citibank other than the link of this forum so I suppose very few people apply other than via word or month.

Yeh, the link still work, I got my sister to apply also, she got her silver master card yesterday (she applied for silver), however, might try to get her to call the Citibank see if she can get the gold one before she activates the card, coz she didn't know the gold card got purchase insurance and higher reward point cap. Anyone got the same situation? Please let me know the result.

Not really, I've read through her letter came along with the card, she got something like income protection insurance or something, but never mentioned about purchase insurance, perhaps that's a different offer, I gotta ask her to call up and check with the card centre I guess.
