Though in my excitement I forgot to confirm it was indeed fee free forever - that'll be my next magic trick!
Can confirm $0 annual fee for life (stipulated in contract so no dramas)
Also comes with $0 annual fee for a supplementary card so really pretty damn good deal! (just don't have any need for a supp card...)

Can you point me to where that is - I just applied and got a supp card for my wife but they charged me $30.

On your welcome letter which your credit card was stuck to. Both Annual Primary Cardholder Fee & Annual Additional Cardholder Fee should read $0 per card

Thanks - now to find that intro/welcome letter.......not sure I kept it. I will try and just call and point out that what it said.

My son, age 22, has just commenced his first professional job after graduating from Uni. His package is about $50K so he would meet Citi's income requirement for the Gold card.

However, when banks look at employment history, how many months/years of employment do they like to see before they approve a credit card application?

I was 21 when i applied, also on a similar package. I applied on my first day of work with no credit history.

8k limit :-P

This may be old news but it surprised me and thought i'd share.

I've been a platinum citibank holder since 2000 but have gotten a bit fed up with annual fee, 1:1 points, absolutely useless call centre and a few other issues so have recently got the platinum amex (cc) and applied for the free for life gold citibank. Got the card 4 days later, they didn't even call and flag that i already had a platinum which i thought was strange.

So yeh, now have platinum and gold - will be cancelling platinum just before next annual fee year starts.....unless they offer any worthwhile deals to stay ;)

jandk,

From everything I've read about Citibank here this does not surprise me at all. They really seem to have a left hand, right hand situation going.

The link for this offer seems to go to the Citibank home page. Gold card when you go to that section indicates $119 annual fee. Has anyone tried this link since last post of success in March? Any update to the link would be great if available.

The above link is not working for me, just goes to citibank home page. Any other link that is current anyone?

Not working for me either; it was working six days ago (see my previous post). :-|

Great thred:).Link still works:) but you get to the end of the application and error comes up:(.Anyone else having the same problem? Have tried 4 times today at different times same result:(

Hi Danger UXB.

I seem to recall someone else having that issue way back in the thread. It was a PC problem rather than a website problem - either about allowing pop-ups or about clearing out old cookies or temporary internet files. Sorry, can't offer any more than that. Good luck.

I'm stuck at "Your financial position"
It says my "Monthly income after tax" is wrong. That's nice. THey don't tell me why it's wrong. I have rental income so I don't know my Monthly income after tax exactly and what I'm guessing is 'wrong'

Thanks Baysider but 3 different computers so far and no luck. I shall return home tonight and see if deleting all the internet cough works
