A lot of PEI reminds me of Tasmania-a lot of great seafood,a major grower of Potatoes (25% of Canada's potatoes grown here),the alternates and these markets with quaint craft and a lot of woodwork along with organic veggies and lots of unpasteurised honey.
Now these might look a little like potatoes-
.
But that is potato soap.
Then there is this.
..
Potato donuts. We presumed they were made with potato flour like the Armish breads in Philly. But no the donut is mashed potato and maple syrup with normal decoration. We decided we didn't want to taste.
There was some good looking produce including one fellow with a great array of heirloom tomatoes. But most really had very little to sell.Wouldn't last an hour at our local farmer's market. This one was typical.
.
Then some street art.
..
Most of the corners on the main street had little gardens.
.
Seemed a little late to plant this one. These gardens are all sponsored by local businesses.
Exhausted we sat down outside Starbucks and had our caramel frappucinos.
