So our last day on PEI we have set aside as a rest day.The Inn at St.Peters is perfect for this.We did take a couple of strolls around the Garden looking at nature. The grubs were active.

We didn't miss dinner though.Mrsdrron had exactly the same as the first night.I had the Duck bacon with camembert, caramelised onionand marmalade. It all worked very well.I then had the lobster.

I then had a chocolate cake with dulce de leche ice cream.Mrsdrron just had the ice cream.

It looked like it was going to be another good sunset.Unfortunately the clouds returned.

Up early to breakfast on Thursday morning.A small buffet then a cooked dish.Mine the typical with eggs, bacon, sausage and potato. and mrsdrron the blueberry pancakes.

It was then an easy run down to Wood's Island for the ferry to Nova Scotia.

Again both very nice.Mrsdrron felt the lobster was absolutely perfectly cooked.
So feeling full and content we strolled back to the room feeling content.

The clouds had disappeared over dinner and the light was great.Would I finally see a good sunset on this trip?

Seem you've both been spoiled with great seafood thus far ๐Ÿ˜‹

Decent chance I'll be in Nova Scotia next July ๐Ÿ˜‰

We are in Nova Scotia now and quite frankly enjoying it more than PEI.But tomorrow we have become the target of Hurricane Dorian. We are staying in Dartmouth tonight and tomorrow. They have issued a warning that Dorian will cross the coast just east of Halifax as a category one hurricane.Sightseeing tomorrow has been cancelled.

The last views of PEI.

Then on the ferry. It really is a narrow entrance to the terminal.

The barriers have taken the odd heavy blow.

But the geese aren't worried.

Seeing this thread is already up to 350 posts I have decided to end here and start a new thread for our return.

We certainly enjoyed our time on PEI especially the seafood but to be truthful we did grow a little tired of the sameness of the scenery. There are 3 scenic drives that the tourist bureau suggests but both the North Cape drive and the Points East drive had some pretty boring sections. The minor roads they used were often in poor condition.
The Green Gables and central coast drive though was pretty good.It also had more restaurants near the little fishing ports.I probably would just do this drive. If doing a bit more probably better to stay in a second location as well as Charlottetown. The Inn at St.Peters was fine with good food but not particularly upmarket.A few locals suggested the best place was the Inn at Bay Fortune.Certainly sounds good with an oyster feast each night.

For restaurants we couldn't go past the Water Street Corner Store in Charlottetown.Really good lobster and scallops

Also on the Green Gables drive we liked the Malpeque oyster barn. You can find it on TA and FB.If you are young and have a good appetite the oysters looked really good and were shucked when ordered.
I would avoid Dave's Lobster.A couple of outlets.

Personally if you are not into Anne of Green Gables 3 or 4 nights here is perfectly adequate. We wished initially that we had only 3 nights on PEI and an extra 3 in Nova Scotia as the scenery is much nicer.Unfortunately Hurricane Dorian is interfering with our plans and have missed out on 2 nice sounding seafood restaurants.

If you are driving all petrol stations have the same price.
The ferry from Nova Scotia to PEI does not sell single trips from Nova Scotia. You must buy a return trip-though obviously no need to take the return.Tghey do sell one way tickets from PEI.

And for Craven morehead they do have lots of golf courses and some look really good. The developers are not great on names.Near the Green Gables course are 2 more-Forest Hills and Eagles Glen. You might have to try getting your mates interested in a golf trip here.Non players can enjoy the seafood.Lots of craft and art stores though mrsdrron found nothing that she really liked.

Glad to answer any questions.

Thanks @drron this trip is now firming instead of a repeat visit to the US due to currency exchange rates. Rough plan being talked up is to fly into New York ( some of the lads want to watch the US Open ) fly up to Montreal and golf both there and Quebec before heading to Nova Scotia. Hoping to have consensus shortly so we can book. Looking forward to gorging on Lobster ๐Ÿ˜‹ has the hurricane settled yet ?
