On Board VA 520 in 1A got the welcome back got the its great to see you again as well from CS Bec and mocktail heading to Sydney to start the QF 81/82 adventure. What a great difference to my previous flights.

So my MEL-SYD flight I got 'Hello sir, 4A just on your right'. Not even 'welcome back drewbles'. I didn't care considering it was OMG-O'clock, but just for the info sheet.

I got more recognition on the NZ flight I was shifted onto due to a CXL'd VA flight than I've ever had on VA.

Today MLB - BNE welcome back Ms HG and then this afternoon BNE - NTL same on boarding and departing plane, great crew on both flights ESP Jeremy who had to do the safety spiel from memory when it froze, couldn't look at him or we would have made him laugh, he did very well when he had mischievous J passengers chuckling at him.

Two flights today, same here. Someone is finally listening. Personally couldnt give a rats, as long as they are polite, but as thats what the topic is, then yes, they have done it today

VA Plat member here. Usually get a welcome back on all flights. I fly ex NTL a lot and they're generally a bit more casual there (everyone at NTL is pretty casual).

Biggest difference I notice is on VA metal SYD-LAX and return, the cabin crew manager usually comes down to introduce themselves. VA plats get advance and early meal service in economy and they get express arrival route tickets too.

I've also twice had them offer me a blocked adjacent seat when the flight is not full.

I've flown the delta codeshare on this route too and after that experience, as a VA plat, I will only ever fly VA metal to US.

Have had the same experience as a VA Gold

Consistency continues for me , with a " welcome back Mr gwilli1 , great to have you back on board again" on VA427 from ADL . You can't ask for much more . Have a 4B shadow also .

back from ool to mel with son same crew as we flew up with offered a few free drinks but what surprised the most was free snacks and food for son and I/ we are just about to reach gold

I recently observed someone seating in row 4 request one of the business class Galaxy Tab during the flight, and it was provided to him. (This was a BSI AC so no in-seat screens) I assume he must have been Gold/Plat.

On a recent mel to ool flight, my wife and two little ones had all of row 3 to ourselves. I am the only plat in the group. The FA offered the two little ones a tab for the flight. No fE in the rest of the plane. No offer on the return flight though.

About 60% of the time I get the verbal thanks at the gate and about 25% something on the aircraft. Flying QF.

Matt

Well compliments to the CSM on QF81 on Saturday, he went through the plane and greeted us all even though it was very WP heavy.

Always thanked at the gate.

Greeted personally both Virgin flights today in J cabin, and heard the FA greet lots more by name as people boarded, both times they were reading off the boarding card, heard a few welcome back Mr So and So for those with VFF status and comments like nice to have you back.

Got a hello, to your right. No welcome back, no smile. VA should offer courses on how to smile and greet elite guests or at least keep it consistent across the staff.

Yep still no welcome back or anything of the like, just get row 3 on the right

Got some today - morning flight BNE-MEL. Welcome back from the cabin supervisor on boarding, and in addition to my flexi breakfast, I think I was offered free run of the menu (wasn't bothered to as I had already had a bite in the lounge). Not sure if it was because I was a WP as others in the front of Y seemed to be getting similar (of course they were probably all Platinum or Gold anyway!).

Fantastic recognition as a Velocity Platinum on VA30 AUH-MEL just now, after a little bit of trouble locating me on-board (due seating issues on the ground) I was given a personal welcome by both Cabin Leaders and offered a J amenity kit. Later on I was brought up from Economy to the Business Class bar for a drink by the CSM where we had a chat about Abu Dhabi, my flying patterns in general and the future direction of Virgin Australia. Incredible service that made me feel right at home.

Flying back from Bali 2 weeks ago we were greeted along the lines of "Welcome back Mr & Mrs B, we dont have anyone flying in business today and as valued Platinum members we would like to offer you a business class seat". Very pleasant surprise, no business class food etc but a pleasant surprise all the same.

International services tend to be quite a different story with QF as well as other airlines so your experience is not surprising. It is a whole different picture and the crew don't tend to be in such a hurry.
