Onboard WiFi?

Some months ago, I downloaded the VA entertainment app. Keen to try it I asked on board my very next flight how I do that, only to be told just plane is fitted with the system.

Can I please ask when this ife is planned to go live across the fleet (or even part of the fleet)?

Had that plane this morning. YID??? Its a BSI THE CONTENT WAS GOOD, heaps of movies, music Tv etc and speed was fast. No problems at all on the iphone ( would have brought the ipad if i knew it would have had wifi). After trying it i say bring it on. Just might want to think about some kind of charging device though. Ok on short haul but smaller devices might struggle with battery drain

It happily streamed audio but no luck with video...it just kept thinking and thinking and...others had the same issue.

OK, thanks to all. We now know a bit about it, but I wonder if we'll get an answer to the when for all question?

Also, as I don't avidly read plane regos before boarding, how do we know it's available? Does the CS announce it?

There's an announcement. And If I remember correctly there are signs on the plane

I got an SMS the day before telling me my aircraft would be equipped - so you have warning to download the app. As it happens there was an aircraft change and we got an old live 2 air old paintwork plane. But we did get YID on the return journey but no warning SMS.

Why am I not surprised. The thought is there but the implementation stumbles......who says VA aren't consistent?

For the time being, the aircraft do have the capability to offer Internet via SAT, but its unlikely to be offered given the costs and uptake potential.

I think I have flown on YID.... but there's no wi fi access... When did YID get it? I flew on it in early March.
