Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

Don't think that's right. Every ADL - DEL I've seen goes via MEL or SYD. Just did a random search for flights for one date each month from Sept to Apr 2023 and not one ADL - DEL direct flight showed up.
That’s because it finishes in August.
Currently they do ADL-DEL direct

Yes, aikman pointed that out. Going back to Fil-Ski's original question though, it's obvious he/she is only in the early stages of planning so it's a pretty safe bet their departure will be well past August

True. There was some talk that it may have been held until the end of the year but obviously the negotiations didn’t come to fruition

Hi Guys I just found this thread. Is the maximum point spend for a OWA business class trip still only 318k points? Or has that increased? thanks

Yes, but there are a heap of ways what you thought was a OWA could break the rules and price higher - e.g. including a non-OW airline, or transiting the same city three times, or leaving your country of departure twice.

itinerary booked and ticketed,
That's a relief. If done through a call centre centre (if you don't mind) at what point did you pay taxes & charges and how long to wait for the ticket/email? That would be helpful for monitoring our booking which we were told is in the queue but charges remain unpaid. Having more than the six flights allowed online has meant using the call centres (daily).

You should ask them to price it while you wait and pay straight away. Then they can go away and ticket it within 24 hours or you call back to chase them. They will not ticket if it is not paid for, and they are not great about calling you back with a price to pay. The pricing gets ever more complex as you keep changing the itinerary and can take over an hour.

Newbie question, what is a PNR and what does it stand for? Is it simply when you book all your reward flights at once and they are on the same itinerary?

Passenger Name Record - it is just your booking number/ booking reference. All your flights on a OWA have to be on a single PNR

and availability is as tough as
It feels like there is less availability than there was 2-3 years ago or maybe its that I can see less because I am bronze status. I have been checking every day for business class flights from Aus to Europe for 2 people for March / April / May 2023 and it is extremely difficult if not impossible to find. I literally cannot see any emirates flights what so ever. I was questioning if there are even any emirates code share classic reward fares still being offered.. Qatar are offering first class but no business class on certain routes to europe..

Not sure silver helps me much but in late Jan - early Feb I did manage to secure 2xJ & 1xF on Emirates SYD-DXB-MXP (early Dec) and FCO-DXB-KUL(early Jan). Given I live in Perth there's some positioning pre and post to sort out! The economy flight(s) KUL-PER are going to feel like a let down!

I paid taxes straight away, and it usually ticketed within 48 hours with one or two follow up calls to prompt

Note that Emirates is not part of the one world alliance, so won't be eligible for the OWA

First thing you should do is check the list of OW airlines. Emirates certainly isn't one of them

My JFK-ORD has had an aircraft change to a MAX (not happy, as I picked the flight originally because it wasn't a max) and my ORD-DFW downgraded from a Dreamliner to a 737. Thankfully both short flights. It is funny doing seat selection via AA website to see First listed as the class on a J OWA, and yes I know that is because domestic first is really only J.
