OOL Gathering - Sat 15th Feb 2014

Hi AFF,

After a short discussion at the MEL event on Thursday, I am taking expressions of interest - gold/silver - for an OOL catchup in Feb 2014.

Here is the initial idea that I am very open to amendments on;

Date - Saturday 15 Feb
Time - Midday onwards
Location - My place, Isles of Istana, Clear Island Waters

I am thinking a sunny Saturday afternoon with a BBQ, some beers/ciders/crisp dry whites, lounging by the water, by the pool or the covered outside entertaining area. Would usually include a putter around the canals on a boat but the boat has since been sold. That being said if there is enough specific want for the boat I am happy to ask around to see if I can borrow a neighbours or friends boat.

The outside entertaining area itself can comfortably accommodate around 20, with a max of about 30 for lunch/dinner & drinks (thought I don't expect that much interest). I would also be able to do an OOL airport run in a 7 seater pagero.

Like I said - all very open & fluid at the moment, so post if you are somewhat interested, and I will make a go/no go decision early Jan or late Dec depending on interest.

The date does not clash with the FT AGM in BNE a week later on the 22nd which is good.

Valentine's Day? I should be able to take the train down from BNE if my car is still in MEL then... Can anyone from MEL check-in my car? Or drive it up?

I think V day is the 14th? I'd be able to grab you from Robina station too, but could/would never do that drive. I had to do it twice a year in a 7 seater with 7 people from CNS or OOL - MEL..

I arrive in SYD at 9am from SIN, probably can catch a quick cheap QF flight up to OOL, returning back to CBR the next day! List me as gold for now.

Sure why not if I'm in town as there's nothing conflicting at this time. Beers, cider, BBQ, waterside, I'm in. Prolly on/in the same train/car as Airwin.

Sounds like a great idea!

But for now I dont think I can make is as the next day is probably the most important event this decade.
