Coolio, I can see the fares on the MH site but not on Matrix. I thought that Matrix was the best way to find fares but maybe not. I suppose the question regarding the difference belongs in another thread.

QF have a Bali sale on at the moment, allowing MEL-SYD-DPS return for approx $1860 or $5.81/SC, netting total 320 SC's.

Also MEL-SYD-NOU return in J for $1,186 and 200 SC ($5.93/SC).

Yep, they show up on Google Flights. Unfortunately the J fares need a stay in Denpasar to remain on the value side of the ledger and I'm very time poor for frivolous activities like status runs haha. Thanks for the tip @whatmeworry. The search continues...

Forty status credits more but a coughpy F lounge. Forty status credits less and a great F lounge.

Hmmm.

Is this a sale or limited to particular dates?

It's a sale at the moment, widely available for departure until December 31.
I agree re: F lounge! That's why I always fly to NOU via SYD.

SIN-KUL-TPE gives 240 SCs in Business (return), right?
SIN-KUL-NRT gives 280 SCs... PER is the same.
SIN-KUL-SYD gives 320 SCs...
SIN-KUL-LHR, gives 400 SCs...

i think the SC to AU and LHR only in the Flexi Econ rate for MH.. so its not that great if you are chasing Qantas SC..(if im not wrong)

Oops. Forgot about that "exception". Only useful for running around in Asia, then.

Cross posting from the discussion thread (intended to post it here originally!)

Not the most amazing $/SC, but I've found ex-KUL J fares on JAL can be had for reasonable prices if anyone's planning a trip to Japan.

e.g. KUL-xSIN-HND(stop)-OKA return is $1500-$1700 return and earns 300SC.

KUL-SIN on MH 737
SIN-HND on JAL 777-200 (SS3 flat bed)
HND-OKA on JAL 777/767 (Class J)

Stopovers possible in Osaka and Nagoya also (I'm doing a stop in Tokyo one way and Osaka the other). Also works well to CTS for a trip to the snow! (20SC less than OKA though)

Could marry up well with some MH runs out of KUL. Book/search through JAL's Malaysian website.
