MH at it again with ex-BKK deals, book by month end for travel anytime in the next year (small surcharge for mid-late Dec)

Slightly more expensive than usual but there is an upside: no minimum stay requirement.

BKK-HKG is obviously the stand out with A330 with lie flat possible on all legs and an excellent selection of lounges in HKG.

Enjoy, and don't forget any discussion goes in the discussion thread!

Some good PTY runs available now ex Vegas. I'm based in SFO so here's my routing
LAS-PHL-MIA-PTY-MIA-PHL-SFO for 420SC (routing direct through LAX/LAS to MIA/CLT, etc is bad as it only gives 50SC, whereas SFO-PHL gives 100SC and LAS-PHL gives 80SC)
US$996 (US$2.37/SC) or for US$1176 (US$2.8/SC) you can get the A330 lie flat between PHL-SFO
Requires overnight in PTY and PHL. Lie flat on the 757 between PHL and MIA

Google Flights

Edit: Turns out you can also ex SFO and go SFO-PHL for an extra 20SC, totalling 440SC

Seems to have had a fare increase

There is some ambiguity around how to calculate SC for Jeddah and Madinah. The MH partner earning table says Z on Malaysia - Middle East routes will earn as Flex Economy, however Qantas does not define "Middle East" on their routes/regions definitions page. You will likely need to fight for distance-based SC, so book at your own risk!

I've included Australian cities for a bit of a laugh as well, thanks Qantas.

Happy running. Don't forget to help the mods out and put any discussion over in the discussion thread.

I see DPS xKUL PEN return for about $480. Pretty much the same deal as SIN, but I'd sooner spend a couple of nights in Penang.

In fact went for DPS xKUL LGK return in business for $480, which nets 200 SC, $2.40/sc. Plus a PER-DPS ret on JQ Max for another $480 which returns 100 SC. $3.20/sc overall. Could do better on the per-dps if more flexible with flight times.

8. Japan Airlines Domestic "Class J"

JAL has some surprisingly cheap “Class J” fares on domestic routes that earn business class status credits. To book Class J, search for “Economy & Class J” on the JAL website. You will then be shown a list of flights at economy prices, and given an option to upgrade to business. Some of the upgrades cost as little as ¥1,000 (about $10). As long as the route is over 250 miles, 40 SC per sector are earned for Class J flights.

JAL also has some cheap domestic F. Okinawa to Haneda (Tokyo) in F was $480 oneway with 90 SC

The wiki entry is quite out of date - JL domestic earn categories were enhanced about two years ago.

It is true that full fare F earns 90 SC, but the earn categories table is extremely opaque and "Discount Economy plus First Surcharge" only earns at Flex Y rates... YMMV (literally)

Oh yeah that earning table is death to understand!
I'm just going with the Fare code on my ticket says (assuming "F" means what we think it does!)

I'll let you know once I've flown it in a few weeks!
