Days like today make me ill. Blind freddy knew we had to watch expenditure and even being judicious we would most likely have a deficit. But not Swan. Not only did he refuse to see what blind freddy could, that there was no way there was going to be a surplus, but they went on spending as though their fantasy was true.

Just a quick trip into company land would have told him that businesses are struggling and subsequently company tax income would be reduced.

And why are Gillard supporters so black and white and arguing about illegal wars and Howard. I marched in the anti Iraq invasions along with most of the community in Adelaide of teachers, neighbours, church people, doctors and lawyers. Nothing to do with political persuasion but a sense of right and wrong. Being against the invasion of Iraq is not the sole preserve of those who vote Labor!

What a load of tripe her speech was.Revenue has collapsed-no it increased by a bit over 7% on last year just didn't reach Swan's ridiculous predictions.And then they spent on the predictions.

Well when your income assumptions include historically great/high/favourable terms of trade, you're bound to make yourself look like an idiot. This from an award winning treasurer. Must be that the rest of the developed world is further down the path the ALP has attempted to send us down, thus making him look great by comparison.

As for the budget blow out, pretty much anyone knew that was going to happen.

While it might cause everyone some pain, this has pretty much cemented the ALP to the wastelands at election time.

But Julia and the pollies still have the last laugh with all their benefits and pensions and travel allowance while the rest of us starts to pay back the debt

Didn't like the sound of Julia's speech today. When she says spreading the burden I think she really means hammering easy targets like business and top rate tax payers.

Sounded ominous didn't it... They have shown they know how to screw their followers, as well as those who would be unlikely to support them, and this was during relatively good times...

So by the sound of the incoming government will be competent and resolve the whole lot in say two terms with no lies or stuff ups?

Didn't we almost have the boat situation solved several years ago, where we were stopping the boat arrivals and could then have put in place a controlled, manageable border security program, i mean we were already taking the 3rd most refugees or something weren't we, now we're going to up it to where we are the 2nd aren't we... But no, these bunch of fools had to scrap the whole thing and then fail repeatedly trying to make up the lost ground but they have let the genie out of the bottle again only its even worse with record numbers arriving... Its just completely out of control...

This is now going to take a sh*tload of repairing if we can ever do it...

How can anyone think that Howard handled the Iraq situation well? There was no reason at all to invade Iraq. Howard and bush were too busy having a blind love in to even look for basic proof of WMDs.

Then of course there is David Hicks and our total disregard for basic human rights. The UK govt had the balls to get their citizens out of Gitmo. Johnny couldn't give a flog.

Then of course there is Johnny's inability and stubbornness to say Sorry.

Oh and of course work choices........

No govt in our history has ever been perfect, whilst there is no question that the liberal party has both a better track record of financial management and better fiscal policy, their track record in other areas makes Julila look like an angel.

The blind faith many here show in Tony is amazing, I too very much dislike Julia and Wayne, but you are all backing the wrong horse in Tony, IMHO he's going to stuff up and it's going to be a doozy of epic train wreck proportions.
