I see tony Abbott is going to GIVE people money from revenue that he is never going to collect.

Let me fix that one for you.

Good news - we're not going to have to put up with the repetitive droning tone that TA wants to increase tax rates. Bad news - sounds like we better get use to the term "cut to the bone" ;)

Don't forget "send a shiver down the spine of every Australian worker"

Even my 10 year old was asking " how many times is he going to say that "

That would be a Billy special, not sure anyone listens to him anymore. He looks like the dark clouds have got him lately......watching his precious PM title slipping thru the fingers will do that.

He must have to wear the dunces cap in caucus......his grand plan hasn't quite worked out the way he imagined ...

I can't wait for it to be over.

Just as well I do not bother following this thread anymore.

hahaha, it's more exciting than waiting for the next "my flight is delayed again" post ;)

Can relate to that sentiment .......Having such a long campaign (the one that wasn't!) was always going to test the stamina of even the most resilient among us - and it seems Gillard's tactic has back-fired on her because Labor seems to be falling off the pace faster than most

As suggested by Laurie Oakes in a piece he wrote today:

"I suspect, though, that Labor MPs have already passed through panic and are into the stunned mullet stage. They seem to have accepted their fate.

And Wayne Swan's Budget on Tuesday night did little to snap them out of their zombie-like trance.

Faces on the government side were grim. Gillard had sat through it with an expression like a sour Easter Island statue."

I even saw Bill Shorten on TV tonight looking like he had aged 20 years in a week - "bedraggled" would be an apt description.

With already over 2500 posts in this thread and another 4 months to go, maybe sticking pins in my eyes would be less painful........:D

If anyone thinks Gillard is Bad. You do not want Bill as PM, that's time to leave oz for a few years if he does. A union stooge if ever there was one.

Bill was starting his transition when he was the union spokesperson at the mining disaster.

Was Bill just drunk and stupid or just one of the two in that interview ?
That was a question posed to me and I didn't know the correct answer.

When was the last one of those?

By the way there is nothing exciting about an election campaign especially when both sides hash the same rubbish over and over and as soon as they are elected they break their promise anyway.

Bill and PM should never EVER go in the same sentence. Unless separated by the words "will never be"

Wow the liberals have hit new lows in discouraging free press. Seems they want to sell the ABC and SBS. But lets be fair, it is all in the interest of the free market of settling it self out... Just like we now have problems with coughs like Waterhouse constantly spruiking odds at sport events. Is there any moral or ethics left in Australia?

Let's be fair and note that this was a "headline-grabber" by a few delegates to the Victorian state conference. Not even voted on. All parties typically have a few wacko proposals put up at conferences, the media seizes on the most outrageous, they sell a few papers, and they reel in a few gullible punters.

Just out of idle curiosity, now that we are talking spurious policy platforms, what was the ALP's position on a carbon tax before the last election? Was it the greatest moral challenge facing our generation, was it something they would never have under a Labor government, or was it some other untruth?
