It answers the question what is the difference between the Greens and the Liberal Coalition?

The Greens have policies.

I agree... The Greens have policies, and I am seriously scared after reading about those!

Their Justice + Human Right Policy gave me a chill, immediately "Suspended Sentence" comes to mind... and Jill Meagher's case popped into mind.

Well no need to worry, I reckon in the Liberal party suspended sentences are reserved for people stupid enough to get caught dealing with people like Saddam Hussein, maybe selling wheat and paying bribes, who didn't have political intervention to delay the cases until the statute of limitations kicked in. All at the same time as Australian military personnel are fighting his troops, .

To use the Jill Meagher tragedy in the same posting as this is obscene. He got the penalty he deserved, although he was loose because the state Liberal government appointed parole board failed to insist he returned to prison after committing a serious assault whilst on parole after serving an inadequate sentence for multiple rapes.

Are you kidding me ?? They are a bunch of ultra left wing anti business nut jobs that will not be happy until we are all driving horse and carts and sitting in a circle smoking dope singing kumbaya

Any of these sound extreme??

•Hike up the Company Tax rate to 33%;

When John Howard was treasurer the rate was 46% - I didn't realise what a sneaky commie he was!

•Introduce road congestion charges;

Yeah - just like those Eastern European crackpot regimes ... err .... in London!

•Force family trusts to be taxed as companies;

What - the tax dodge is over!! How will you afford a new Porsche Cayenne for the kids when they turn 18?

•Increase the cost of imported cars;

How is this materially different to subsidising local car manufacturers? Oh - of course ...... refer to the above.

(..... More gibbering here that I won't bore you with a second time ...)

They deserve to and hopefully will be wiped off the political landscape

You seem to be channelling an infamous political leader, but I'm struggling to remember his name. Someone help me here.

The Greens have policies.

They have bad policies I'll grant you that but I think everyone should wake up and smell the coffee TA will be the next pm of Australia so get over it

I've accepted it and have posted previously that now it is time for some scrutiny of TA and his policies. After all the coalition will be in government for at least two terms.

I wonder how long after September 15 until TA's colleagues dump him?

Good one HVR but the parole board was still operating under the laws passed by the previous ALP government where they could only revoke parole if a parolee is sentenced.
However I would not blame the previous government either.This case is an extreme one.Bringing politics into it is not helpful.

The state Liberal government has been in power for >two years. Time enough for them to repeal any laws they didn't want. Or it would've been if they didn't have a do nothing premier who had to be removed because of his gross incompetence which funnily enough is never mentioned by Liberal party supporters.

This shows that the coalition will keep blaming Labor for their shortcomings even when they've had the opportunity to change laws. Still it is easier to blame and hate than to actually govern.

Uh huh. Which ones ?

Don't forget to quote so we don't have to guess what you're actually talking about.

Their Justice + Human Right Policy gave me a chill, immediately "Suspended Sentence" comes to mind... and Jill Meagher's case popped into mind.
Because...?

I'm well over it. I began my preparations to be able to leave the country some time ago.

totally agree. Yet the coalition supporters continue to obsess over the current government.
The media must all be one-eyed Coalition supporters, including the ABC. Who'd a thunk it?

But then again can you show me where the Liberal government in Victoria has blamed the previous Government for the failure of the Parole board in this case?I am not Victorian but all I have read is about bipartisan outrage.
You do know that a report into sentencing,parole etc was completed last year by the Sentencing Advisory council.This was commissioned by the previous Government in 2009 but only released in 2012.So I doubt that being in power for over 2 years is a major factor in any delay in changing the laws.could you provide evidence to say there was a mood for change prior to this last change.
If not I repeat-bringing politics into this case is wrong.

Yet the coalition supporters continue to obsess over the current government.

Conservatives obsess over all sorts of things. Take for example Cory Bernardi. Actually just take him ...away somewhere. But if we are generalising, and let's face it why be analytical about these things, it not as much fun - conservatives are worriers and true liberals (no, not the fake in-name-only Libs we have here) are more laissez-faire. Prepare to start worrying!

Well here's my rant given all the Greens comments. Check the picture captions to do with the mid year ball associated with this story Gillard's fall is far bigger than Labor's Every is Pollie and partner/wife/daughter except Penny Wong and her partner who are both named. Why TF can't Penny Wong have the relationship with her partner acknowledged? Only time I'll ever agree with the Greens. But don't tell them that because they still oppose nuclear power.

Actually all parties oppose that, so they are all as bad as the greens.

Not sure where this came from .... seems to be apropos of nothing. What were you trying to say, Skyring?

I think it is a brilliant statement that we need to store away for when the liberal supporters start baying about the evil biased ABC again.
