I agree with you about the ill informed electorate and the blame game that will eventuate. Still if the Libs are going to be in power for a couple of terms they'll eventually have to deliver something.

Like a mining tax?

... and still romp in to government in September.
Because Labor no longer appeals. Look, you can't blame the Libs for the ongoing series of spectacular own goals Labor has been relentlessly kicking. This debacle is one for the history books - Kevin07 to Gillard13. It's not just luck - a stuff-up this bad takes good planning and teamwork.

Ok so what is the Liberal vision for Australia? Surely they have one? Surely now is the time to share it? The people of Australia deserve to know how their future leaders will run the country.

My guess is that the policies will be revealed by both sides in the traditional way - just before the election, so the voters can make a choice.

Quite clearly its a Gillard / shorten / Howes / Matheison / free Canberra!!!

And therein lies the problem. According to the Libs this country is one step away from bankruptcy and being wound up. Therefore they must have a plan to 'restore' the country to its greatness and only they can do that.

We need vision and the people who can implement it. I really cannot see Tony Abbott with any long term ability. I reckon his sole aim is to become PM with no real idea of what to do after that.

Labor’s serious and undeniable spending crisis has been further exposed by a fresh round of budget analysis by some of Australia’s most respected business groups.

Today in a damning assessment the Business Council of Australia (BCA) said the budget is in “urgent need of repair” because “the government’s fiscal strategy is not working and needs a major rethink”, Shadow Minister for Finance, Andrew Robb observed.

Spotlight on Labor's Spending Crisis - Liberal Party of Australia

I'm sorry HVR but to me the vision the current lot in power in Canberra have for Australia is to divert as much power as they can to their Union mates.
And as for economic management-bring in a mining tax.Predict it will bring in billions, spend those billions. Then of course it doesn't bring in the billions.
Bring in a carbon tax.Predict it will bring in billions.Spend those billions. And now from 2015 it wont bring in those billions.
Result one very busted budget.

All good points, now does the Liberal Party have any clue as to what to do to fix it? Or is their agenda to divert as much government money to their business mates and rich people in the form of middle class welfare such as baby bonuses etc?

Surely now is the time to for the Liberal party to show that they deserve to rule in their own right rather than because Labor has failed?

A little hyperbole is being questioned?
Yup. That's what got Labor into trouble in the first place. Straight-talking and honesty always plays well with voters in the long run.

And so far both parties have failed to deliver any straight talking and honesty. As the alternative government who will very likely be in power soon surely the Liberal party owe it to us to tell us what their vision is?
