Packing Cubes - Thoughts?

I bought mine from Amazon.com

Love them!

They are now indispensible, really.

No more diving into the suitcase turning the contents over 3-4 times to look for something

I find the medium / small sizes are more usefull than the large ones. But it is up to you.

Buy in different colour, for faster ID

Have tried to purchase some eBags packing cubes via Amazon but they're unable to deliver to Australia currently :( They're sold by eBags through Amazon though so it must be eBags who has the delivery restrictions. How long ago did you buy yours and do you recall if they were sold by amazon directly?

Have looked at other brands but eBags seem the goods to me but I can't find them at a decent price anywhere else.

I bought them when I was over there.

Others may tell you some forwarding services where Amazon sends its goods to (with a US address) and then they send it to you - for a fee.

I cannot remember those services' names at the moment.

Ah cool, yeah I know of a few, thanks :)

Myus.com. They have a great discount deal with Amex too. There is a thread on these forums. Ah yes thats one thread legroom but there is another one somewhere. So anything you see on Amazon is available to you.

I ended up purchasing the Eagle Creek packing cubes from Amazon because I was too lazy to setup a shipping redirect. They seemed to have comparable quality and sizes and reviews for about the same price.

When I decided to start using packing cubes I was appalled at how expensive they were for something that is just nylon a zipper and some mesh. The Muji ones I found were the cheapest out there and I think maybe also the lightest. These are the ones I have - LIGHT & SMART- Packing Cubes
I dont think there are any Muji stores in Australia but if you travel in Asia they are everywhere!

Cheers

Timmi

I wonder if the new Muji store in Chadstone (Victoria) has any? I live on the other side of Melbourne, but would happily travel to Chadstone if they stock them.

So I have finally decided to go down the "PACKING CUBE" method for our next trip in December. Hopefully it will curtail my packing stuff ... for just in case I need it !!
I bought 2 sets from Big W = Globite Packing Cubes 3 Pack - Blue and Pink $29

and then I discovered K Mart had some too, $9 for 3 !! Pink or Black. So I bought 3 sets of each :)

We will see how successful they turn out to be !!

I have the pink Kmart ones, they do the job just fine. Better than my Reject shop ones, but they cost me 5c each so I can't really complain.

I’d be interested in their quality. I bought some cheap ones and ended up throwing them away and paying for quality ones. Having said that I am impressed with the quality that Kmart has on some products

I use these and love them. Means I don’t always have to completely unpack. Each cube contains a different clothing item. And I roll.

Here is another Kmart 7-piece option - https://www.kmart.com.au/product/7-piece-packing-cube-43116232/

My nod to cubes is a plastic carry bag for each pair of shoes and one for washing.

@mrs.dr.ron I am interested in the Kmart v. Globite quality comparison?

I have three sets, I love them!
I even take one in my carry on, with all my bits and bobs that I need on the plane. Simple just to take out the one packing case with leads, Kobo, glasses, toiletries etc.

My Kmart cubes have already done a few trips including to the US, all still in perfect condition. Though I don't expect them to last as long as more expensive ones.

I think the last time when we were in Singapore, I looked at MUJI and nearly bought the packing cubes there, they certainly were VERY similar to the K Mart ones I did buy here. But at K Mart they were cheaper than MUJI !! but MUJI didnt have them last month on our trip back home.
The first test will be our road trip to Newcastle and the AFF meeting :) then Sydney and the trip home via Blue Mts, Orange and NEH.
@prozac - the Globite ones are definitely a stronger bag, with only a small part open mesh, and the K Mart ones you can see all of whats inside as the top is all mesh.

Love packing cubes and the two colour method to keep his and mine easy to locate. Plus I split them into his and my bag so if one bag goes missing, we still have some clothing because despite popular opinion, one size does not fit all and I just cant go to Kmart and find everything I need.

Dont forget some packing cubes for shoes. I pack loafers (for the hotel) and Volleys for rest days so hubbys feet get a break from boots.

I got some from eBay branded "bagsinbag", different colours for each person in the family. Quality has been hit and miss on them. Some have held up a few years, but I others the zip has broken almost immediately. Now looking for sturdier options. Interested to see how these ones go.
