Paris Silmo fair trip in J on SQ, with extended travel after.

The next leg was SIN-MEL SQ J in an A350 row 18, IMHO the worst J seats. Toilets overlapped so little privacy, and smell issues. Lucky it was not a night flight. We had no other choice if we were to sit together, and we chose seats a fair way in advance. I finished watching the whole first season of Star Trek Discovery, great! Main meal was BTC beef rendang, also great, fairly spicy, but not too much for me.

On a side note, they did not load the BTC meals for my wife. So a bit annoyed.

Next drama was after landing we were paged. We were told 2 of our bags had not made it onto our second flight. But we had 3 bags, they could not tell us which bags were missing. So my wife went to baggage carousel to await lone bag, and I went to baggage services, they informed me that all three bags had not made connection. They told me the bags were expected on a later flight landing after 9pm, we landdd at 6.20pm. We were overnight in Melbourne at the Lindrum, but had a flight home at 11.05am the next day. They said they could not get the bags to us by that time, and they offered to hold them at the office for us to collect in the morning. So off to the Lindrum we went. Best hotel, toothbrushes and razors offered as we had none.

Got back to airport just before 9.00am, went to the office we were told to. No bags. They had been sent on ‘Rush’ to Hobart on a virgin flight . Not what they told us would occur the night before. They said just collect from baggage carousel in Hobart, which seemed odd as they had no way of knowing where we were. Turns out they would be in same flight home that we were just by chance. They still said to collect from baggage carousel, which was not what occurred obviously. The virgin staff at Hobart helped locate our bags eventually, all 3 safe and sound. Words have been had with our son on the state of the house we returned to, End trip.

Just put it this way the dog hair had formed its own tumbleweeds! Needless to say vacuuming was done by son!

Looks like a great trip. Loved all the photos. You visited many of my favourite places.
And I agree the war cemeteries are so well cared for, but very sobering to visit.
