Passing of a Monarch

Saw a news clip and it looked like P.Harry half a step behind P.William. Protocol or just parallax error?
They all looked to change position slightly along the way. Maybe camera angles. But whatever, they seemed to be very far apart from each other as permitted regardless of whether lined up or slightly behind.

The current Viscount Linley is the Earl of Snowdon’s son Charles Armstrong-Jones.
As in, Charles is the son of David Armstrong-Jones (the Earl, who was Viscount Linley until 2017) and grandson of Margaret.

Whoops my bad

Mine too 😐

So lets get this right. Calling Wikipedia .. :) Princess Margaret had two children with Antony Armstrong-Jones - David (1961) and Sarah (1964), now Lady Chatto.

They were both in the procession accompanying the Queen's coffin en route to Westminster Hall (according to Google).

I watched the grandchildren's vigil . It was actually quite moving .
I can imagine having queued up for hours, being in the Westminster Hall as their vigil started. That would have been difficult to see.

And something else I read today @Pushka apparently Kate even though she is going to be Queen one day is supposed to curtsy to Beatrice and Eugenie because they were born princesses - you'd really need a minder

I just couldn't resist googling that. Apparently when she is with Will it doesn't apply. It does get a bit silly

Lady Sarah Chatto, as she has the title through birth. (Cf Lady Diana Spencer). Her husband is plain old Mr Chatto.

Lady Chatto would be a title acquired through marriage, not birth.

The transfer of HM from BP to Westminster Hall was really a very intimate procession as far as these go in the UK. A small military contingent, Pages in front of the gun carriage, former office bearers such as Masters of the Household, their deputies and similar gathered around the gun carriage, and the Royal family behind. Many of us who have been in the UK have done the walk down the Mall and through Horse Guards, but not perhaps under the scrutiny of TV and with such internal emotional turmoil.

You could see the very temporary relaxation as they passed through the Arch and not in sight of the crowd.

I am watching the coverage of the lead up to the funeral . It is very special and a once in a lifetime event.
Navy ratings pulling the Gun Carriage, very moving.
Pity the one sailor RHS 3rd from the back (3rd from the carriage) who is out of step.
Edit: In step now.
Our future King really looks the goods in his uniform.

Can anyone answer why some of the Queens Guard seem to be 'roving', coming in from the side of the parade to enter the ranks in a diagonal fashion, one appeared to march backwards for a while before turning around mid-step, etc.?
I thought about being replacements, but I did not see any collapse and need replacing.

Inevitably some of their shiny boots have now got horse cough on them
