Ah ha. Thanks. I would have put the table together differently :)

Maybe sponsor a WP on a trip somewhere strategically flying out of MEL/SYD one evening (NZ, Japan?) - two return economy fares are a lot less expensive than the BA F. (Although, you earn even less SC's.)
I like your lateral thinking.

Surely the best option here is to redeem points for BA F to SIN (rather than paying a cash fare)? You won't earn those prized SCs, but you'll save money and still get to visit the FLounge and experience BA F.

Award availability is limited, but I can see a few seats that have recently been released for travel in the next few weeks on that flight. (And No doubt BA will continue to release seats in the weeks leading up to flights, where there is availability.)

Let me know when you're wanting to go - I am often transiting through SYD. In fact, I am on QF1 (4pm flight) early October by myself so i'd be happy to guest you in then, just get in touch.

Sponsor a WP to fly SYD-AKL and utilise the all day check in option. Full day of Flounging after taking the last flight out. Stick around for 6 hours and then take the LAN 787 home. And yes I am volunteering if my schedule allows it hahah.

i may have been to the F lounge one too many times (!) but i just wouldnt justify taking a trip just to spend time there anymore

the drinks selection is still impressive but the food/service/spa have all been steadily enhanced over the last few years

find someone to guest you and fly Y somewhere - no way it's worth paying for F

Have to go with the majority here Pooch. Sitting in the F lounge in Syd at the moment and it is a pleasant place to be in if you are waiting to fly somewhere, but don't waste money to visit it. I know if you hang around on this board and see people discussing their visits and the new menu, it must start feeling like you are missing out on something, but really not. Next time you are planning to fly somewhere, check out the lounge section and coordinate with someone to guest you in and do it that way.
