It is interesting how many TBBT fans there are here. I was driven to TBBT as I am bit of a science geek and a huge Comic geek (about 2000 UK comics and 10,000 US comics) - it is like the show was designed just for me. I wonder how many people just watch for the laughs and how many look at the covers of the comics that they are reading and look down to see it is the same one as on my iPad...

As already mentioned by a few people, I have Game of Thrones and Big Bang. I also have Tinker, Sailer, Soldier spy (BBC version) but I havn't seen this yet. Along similar line to Thrones is Pillars of the Earth which is quite enjoyable. For something a little highbrow I watch pride and prejudice (1995/96 BBC version). Throw in a few eps of Family Guy and the Bourne/Die Hard/Terminator movies and I think that is all the bases covered.

I have to say, although I love the writing of Terry Pratchett and Douglas Adams (I have all of their books I think) but I found the movie versions of their books to be painful. I much preferred the TV series of H2G2, and I have most (perhaps all) of the H2G2 radio series on my phone to listen to on the way to work.

And just to be a PITA isn't the *knock knock knock* before the 'Penny'..

Still don't get it. Does anyone else not have a clue what this is about, or am I the only one? It certainly is an insider joke.
It must be an insider joke. I have watched the odd episode here and there but really have no interest in the show.

It could also have been:
*knock knock knock* Leonard *knock knock knock* Leonard *knock knock knock* Leonard which is almost as frequent.

And less frequently:
*knock knock knock* Raj *knock knock knock* Raj *knock knock knock* Raj

and others too of course

haha

Just added In Time and Ides of March to my iPad, Looking forward to watching both of them on my way back to MEL.

I was going to lay out my feelings about TBBT at length, but given the apparent popularity of the show amongst fellow AFFers, I feel I should probably keep them to myself to avoid the inevitable flame war.

Other than that, there's a great selection of shows people have mentioned here - I do notice the glaring fact that three of the best shows on TV right now have only been mentioned once or twice: Community, Parks and Recreation and Breaking Bad (at least until Mad Men and Arrested Development return).

Well I'm too stupid to keep my feelings to myself. It's entertaining and I can see why people like it. But at the end of the day, I'm not that excited by it. It is just a science based sitcom after all. Science geeks are a good angle and it connects with me, but still meh! Now it emphasis I see why people love it and full support to them, just I don't.

Couple of other shows I like are entourage, outrageous fortune (NZ version), The Borgias. Plus most ofwhat everyone else has mentioned. Pillars of the earth was also good, I recorded that on foxtel and watched it all in one sitting.

I am loathe to watch Borgias on an aircraft/train as it has similarities to Spartacus with frequent nudity - and I know I have defended the position of watching what you want and that is fine for me in int'l J class (generally on CX at the moment so no-one looking over my shoulder) but I just can't bothered having some tap me on the shoulder any way.

I'm only on domestic flights anyway and I usually have the iPad flat on the tray table and look over it, if that makes sense. That let's me limit those who can see to some extent.

But anyway after getting through the first series I'm loathe to watch anymore borgias at all. It was good but I'm over it.

Sent from my iPhone using Aust Freq Fly app so please excuse the lack of links.
