Just sitting here, in the BNE Lounge, Doing one of my favourite hobbies, watching people. Some people really make me laugh. One bloke just walked up to the soft drink machine, put his cup under it, got so frustrated because nothing came out, moved the sign out of the way that said out of order in HUGE CAPITALS, tried another button, then took an OJ and walked off. Another bloke at the wine, just "Tasted" the bubbly, poured a whole glass, sculled at the bar, then poured another and wandered off. Ohhhh Another bloke just got a Lemon Lime and bitters bottle from the bar, took it over to his bag, and BE BUGGERED, pulled a lid out recapped it, put it in his bag and walked out. :D:D. I see some restrictions coming on for lounge access... LOL another older sheila about 70 odd, is standing at the bar drinking glass adter glass as well, wonder if she is with the other old bloke? Im going to find out..................................................................................................................................................................................................
..........................................................................LOL Yep, looks like happy hour at the local on their table :D

Haha I was just there 5 min ago. Should have been watching instead of reading this forum. :)

Somewhat OT (but this is the Playground after all) - I'm not sure what this says about me, but some years ago I used to work in rural Victoria and reside mid-week at a particular motel. From time to time we'd get a busload of pensioners through the place. The dining room had a toaster at breakfast that operated like the ones in the QP (there's the connection :))...stick the bread in at the top, and a short time later it would pop out the bottom, nicely golden brown (in theory at least). This toaster had a dial on it graduated from 1 to 10. It was fun watching people operate the dial. They thought 1 was 'hardly browned' and 10 was 'very well done' when in fact the numbers referred to the speed it went through the toaster at - 1 being slowest and 10 being fastest, hence the opposite of what they were expecting. I could have told them, but chose instead to watch the astonished looks on their faces as their toast they were expecting lightly done came out burnt, and vice versa.:D:p

Qantas BNE bar opened at 12 as well. Sydney should be open by now too hopefully

"Soph-eh! SOPH-EH! Take it! It's FREEEEE SOPH-EH! FREE!! Take the magazines SOPH-EH!"

(quote from a certain Pam Ann, roughly at least, I can't remember the exact phrase; think 'thick snobbish British Accent and BA Lounges ;))

It's always midday somewhere in the world. Or drink o'clock...
unless you have been stuck on a plane for most of the night and thinking that you can have a nice wine in the lounge but only to find it oj omg
oh well muffins it is

I *hate* that. . . . . . .

And come to think of it, how come I can grab a beer at the local before noon? (I've done quite a few pre-dawn shoots in summer - up at 4am to get to the site on time; by the time it's completed and I get back to the city I feel like lunch kind of early), but I can't in the QP?

I regularly avail myself to a newspaper to read on the plane, as most of the free ones at the gate are already gone. I have however witnessed ladies taking the Home & Gardens, Vogue etc magazines. Oh, and I have been known to grab a handful of those nice coconut covered apricot balls too for the flight. The small dairy milk chocolate in Economy just doesn't cut it to be classified as dessert! :D

My favorite people watching activity in the QP/Business lounges is watching the fatties go crazy on the desserts! Then sneaking back for more looking guilty hoping no one notices. Classic!

Even those thin people amongst us go a little crazy for desserts. I couldn't help avail myself of three slices of the chocolate walnut brownies on a recent QP visit - but in my defence I was in the lounge for about two hours.

I hope you washed them down with something appropriate!
