Europa - same principle at play - solid freeze, partial thaw (or tidal flex), break into chunks, float around, get caught and freeze up again.

And some pretty cool nunataks in other pics, but you knew that.

Great idea! The earth was created 4.6 billion years ago, give or take. I'd better start in the car, on the drive south ... :shock: (One of our driving companions is also a geo so can fill in any gaps I miss )

I would love to do this, but I would so badly want to set foot on the Antarctic soil, that I would end up distracted.
