The riff raff need a regional lounge ok throw in s coffee machine, but they should be flying out of another airport

Gosh.. That coffee machine was working overtime in the am.. Imagine the bar in the afternoon.. I'm amused at even the thought

The coffee machine would be a lot faster than the Asian guy in there making coffee a couple of days ago. It was like watching paint dry.

What time does the morning rush quieten down? Hoping most of the mining flights leave pretty early 8 - 9am at the latest?

Perth doesn't really quieten down at all. The mining flights run all day!

Im flying out Thursday evening on the red eye back East, I think around 11.20 pm. Will the lounge be quiet around then or still full?

By 11.20 pm most miners would either be at work, the camp, home or in the lockup, you should be fine.

At that hour of the night you will be fine. Most FIFO flights leave PER before 18:00 as there are safety concerns regarding rest times prior to commencement of shift the following day.

Flew out on the red eye to BNE last Tuesday and It was empty around 7pm but filled up around 2130-2200. Plenty of FIFOers from the east coast returning home. Not in Hi Viz but pretty easy to tell when they're talking about "West Angeles" or "Area C".

Or is that the unpublished 'curfew" time?

Curfew in Camp is 00:00. No drinking alcohol after 21:00 if working the following day. Supposed to have a minimum of 10:00 hours rest in between shifts.

If you leave PER at say 18:30, and have for the sake of argument 90 minutes of flight time, then that will have you arriving at camp 20:30 including some moderate travel.

20:30 is past the closing time of most Dry Messes!

Arrived into the lounge at about 7:45 in the morning. Far from packed - plenty of free seats available even entire rows. There was a few fluro wearing people wandering around, but mainly looked like a leisure crowd. Assuming all the mining flights had probably departed so guessing i missed peak time!

Plenty of food for breakfast available - staff were on the ball replacing anything that got low. Other staff were regularly floating around collecting dirty dishes & wiping down tables.

Over all quite a nice lounge to spend a couple of hours in, not sure what everyone's complaining about here! :) (unless i just chanced and got a quiet couple of hours)

I think you chanced at a 'window of relative calm" My observations would rate as one of the busiest & bizarre lounges I have ever experienced.. Though as you mentioned well serviced, pleasant decor & spacious.

Never had a problem with it.

I was there about 12:30 yesterday. Managed to find a seat relatively easy, plenty of room.

By 13:30 it was standing room only. There were 3 or 4 guys standing having a drink around lots of the sit down tables, I would say 30 people without seats.

The bar looked like Northbridge.

I'm guessing there were at least 30 bags occupying seats.

Can't say I examined the entire lounge but there appeared to be no free seats where I was sitting. Every single seat around me was taken.
