Do I take that to mean that the PER QP actually looks quite nice; it's just too damn small?

If they do a similar design in OOL then at least it looks quite OK.

Empty, the PER QP is one of the nicest in the network. It's really half way between a QP and a J lounge. The F&B is more J than QP, and the decor is nicer.

I'm not going to get into the debate about having or not having a J lounge, but I will say this. It'll be interesting to see what happens when the PER development is complete.

I like the Perth QP and I have no issues at all with the Hi-Vis crew, they are a well behaved lot if you pardon my generalisation. With all QP's, if they are a bit full, ask politely if you can sit where someone has their carry on parked and the answer will almost always be yes. After all, you are usually only there for a short time ?

The ones with their hands on their hips could be Dockers supporters?

EH

If they supported the Eagles they'd be:

1. At the first sign of any contact ducking their heads or flailing about like they'd had to fend off an attempted headlock;
2. Looking for the nearest bottle Chardonnay; or
3. Knitting

(no I'm not a Dockers supporter!!)

I'd agree with this. Fortunately for me, I guess, is that I have never really seen the crowding issues that are mentioned here. Perhaps because most of my trips to Perth these days are more leisure oriented, with the timings to match!

From my point of view one of the main selling points of joining Qantas Club (not by becoming Gold but buy buying it) is so that there is somewhere pleasant to go whilst waiting to board your flight. The Perth Qantas Domestic Lounge is, I think it is fair to say, not generally like that these days. It is a lovely place in itself, as has been said, but it is usually overcrowded at the times I fly anyway. I often need to sit down and read complicated and confidential Board papers prior to meetings and I'm sorry but the QC in Perth Domestic is just not suitable for me to do that ... as a rule. I usually fly early mornings.

I'm not overly bothered about it ... I get QC free being Platinum ... but for newbies who pay and join it may be a shock.

EH

PS: Those men with hands on hips would not be Eagles players. They are too busy keeping their ANNUAL finals places.

As a rule, I'd be hard pressed to read confidential papers or reports anywhere that is fairly "public", such as airport lounges, let alone on board an aircraft (except for, perhaps, in F).

If you wanted any where in a lounge where you could safely read such papers, you're better off trying to get a shower room!

I usually fly early mornings.

Which means you get most of the FIFO crowd too. I know at least there is a flight to KGI in the morning, so that doesn't help.

There is about 700 workers on our site and the majority of Mobilisation flights are mid afternoon, early morning flights are usually managers and the like on day visits…

I have lined the second toilet with tinfoil in my house and also had it sound proofed. I tend to read confidential documents there, but remain alert to pin hole cameras. :p:p

I take EmilyHoward's point on the Perth QP. I have board papers, and technical specifications to read and my problem with the Perth QP is more the noise and all round kerfuffle. Very hard to concentrate in my experience. I usually blend into the crowd though, I look rather dashing in my hi vis shirt.:p (I'm an occasional day tripper to our good friends in the mining industry at the odd remote location.)

At least if they were Eagles supporters they would probably be a bunch of winners (or reatively accustomed to it anyway)...

If Dockers supporters they would suffer from a misdirected sense of loyalty based on a foundation of a critical lack of judgement... They would however have developed the virtue of patience to the nth degree... On a positive note, their hi-viz workwear would be preferable to that abysmal club singlet they used to wear, which even they thought was time to ditch... :)

Oh, another positive, come September the over crowding and rowdiness would pretty much disappear... ;)

Well Perth domestic QC used to be okay before being 'flouro-ed'. One just needs a bit of space ..... with no-one looking over your shoulder ..... and some peace and quiet. I have certainly never needed to go to the Shower room or indeed the 'coughper'. They are not THAT secret! LOL.

And here's me thinking those fluoro types would be right up Emily Howard's alley (so so speak ). :p
