Flight to BNE was delayed 3 hours today, went inside 4 times, could not get a seat until the last time, there is just way to many people in there.

Line up for coffee/drinks was 9 deep.

They should just put a "Full" sign up to save people wasting their time even bothering to go in there.

It's not too bad, just depends on timing.

Did you fly out early morning or late at night?

This seems to be a general trend with lounges in most airports.

If both airlines are hell bent on ensuring everyone has status then they need to be able to cater for all the people flying. I think the guest rules are the ones to be reviewed next.

Please can a mod amend the title by removing QC please!

Perhaps also add third world $hithole somewhere too? :-p

Sent from my iPhone using Aust Freq Fly app. Sorry if this post is a little out of tune but Perth after 9 PM is, how can I put it.....oh yes cough.

Last time I flew out of PER the lounge was so crowded they sent me to the CL instead.

I’m going to have to start travelling with you!

I did wonder what a Queens Counsel had to do with air travel ;)

QP more appropriate :p

The QC in PER can get close to full in the lead up to flights, but when there is a delay (like OP), there are serious crowding issues...

I remember for a while they removed the ability for pax to take in guests. Might be a way of ensuring that when it gets more full, members are not denied entry, and guests do not take up the space of members.

I think that was during the renovations...

I dont bother getting in to the club anymore.. esspecially if its full. I prefer to pay one of the many coffeee places outside where there are no queues like the QC.

Yeah but like most things in Perth it shuts down at 9:00 PM. :p

Is the DJ Lounge suffering from overcrowding too?
I thought that was the electricity that went off at 9 (when the street lamp lighters were around lighting the gas lamps).

The DJ lounge is big in PER. It's also spartan and bland. It's not a place i'd like to spend more than an hour (and indeed, don't as a rule). It's got a lot of natural light, white walls and boring furniture. The staff are pleasant and helpful though, and you have zero problems finding a seat, unlike the QP.

If there is a delay the passengers bank up in the lounge, I've been in Brisbane with standing room only but that doesn't make Brisbane lounge a joke, just means the passenger flow out of the terminal isn't as fast as the inflow.

But it has been a while since I've even been to Perth so of course other issues unknown to me.

Was in the dom QClub PER last weekend - Saturday morning at 8am. About 30 pax total -it was calm, relaxed (even the lounge dragons were friendly!) After visiting the place 30+ times this year (and sometimes walking straight back out) - for the first time I can say it was actually a *really* nice lounge to visit before the flight.

As for the DJ lounge in PER - agree it is bland and a bit like an empty Ikea-inspired waiting room... but you always get a seat

I have never had much of a pleasurable experience in PER, especially as the east cost flights tend to go together, and the bar seems very stringent on RSA, more so than elsewhere (apart from my random experience in SYD DJ lounge that has not been repeated).
