Delayed departure - arriving an hour or so late. Upper deck FAs were exceptional ... walked off with a bottle of bubbles.

Interesting you photographed the tailings dam - last month was the first time I noticed that just before you land - one hell of a mine!

Sure - I just didn't register them as tailings dams.

We decided to stay the first night in Santiago rather than push onto Lima.

We dropped the bags at The Singular Hotel

Lovely hotel - lucky! We've booked it for our last night in a couple of weeks.

SCL was a frustrating process for many. Thanks to AFF I knew all about the reciprocity fee ... many did not. Witnessed quite a few fellow citizens being turn away at Immigration, and sent back to the other side of the terminal so they could make their contribution to the Chilean economy.

The hotel is well located, and easy walking to some of sights of Santiago.

We walked to Cerro San Cristobal https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Cristóbal_Hill and rode the funicular up to see the sights.











Worth a visit - perfect activity after leaving home 20 odd hours earlier.

Walking back to town we stopped at a decent looking wine bar for a few pre-dinner drinks

Wonderful meal. Definitely worth eating here!

I'll have to google that ... all we've had time for is Wine and Water

LAN J lounge SCL - Impressive!

I have just returned from a South American Adventure that included MP and Titicaca ( as well as Uyuni and a whole lot of other stuff).
Looking forward to following …

LAN domestic is Utilitarian but pleasant , have flown with them quite a few times now.
