Wednesday 23 January 2019 finds the redeye from MNL down to MEL, PR209 (A359 RP-C3506) suggested as arriving at 0948, 78 late. This will delay the 1015 hours PR210 back to MNL until at least 1115 in its pushing back.

On Friday 25 January, PR209 from MNL to MEL is arriving at 0906, 36 late. MEL has gusty, hot north winds of up to 65kmh. Aircraft is A333 RP-C8785.

Unusually, PR211 (MNL dfown to SYD) was delayed overnight as takeoff of this schedule Saturday 2230 hours flight was at 0617 on Sunday 27 January. RP-C8789 looks to be arriving at 1712 hours, 427 minutes late. PR212, the 1150 hours SYD - MNL is predicted to depart rather optimistically at 1830 so arrival in MNL will be at around midnight, when the airport closes nightly for its extended curfew.

UPDATE: The returning PR212 took off from SYD at 1943 so MNL arrival is likely at about 0018 hours, 448 minutes late, assuming the folk at ATC give clearance for this very late flight to land.

On Wednesday 6 February 2019, PR213 (1050 hours MNL down to SYD, A321 RP-C9936) took off at 1151 so arrival to a busy Sydney (due to the storms earlier this evening in Melbourne) should be at 2232, 32 late.

Tuesday 11 February's PR211, the scheduled 2230 hours MNL - SYD (A321 RP-C9936) took off at 2340, about 45 late but then unusually diverted to DVO where it was on the ground from about 0130 to 0200, so this could have been a medical emergency. SYD arrival on Wednesday 13 should be at 1146, 101 minutes late. This will delay PR212, the timetabled 1150 hours SYD - MNL that should be able to push back some time after 1305.

This unscheduled DVO diversion again occurred on Thursday 14 February. PR211 (A321 RP-C9932), the 2230 hours ex MNL took off at 2321 but was in DVO from about 0115 to 0151 hours on Friday. SYD arrival should be 1153, 108 late. Again as above, PR 212 will be tardy.

With foreign airlines' lower level incidents outside Australia, it can be hard to establish why. Maybe an outraged passenger will submit a Google or TripAdvisor review in due course.

Medical? Insufficient fuel? Disruptive passenger(s)?

The MNL - SYD PR211 has a fairly patchy timekeeping record. Thursday 21 February saw this scheduled 2230 hours departure airborne at 2333. Friday 22 arrival is predicted as 1138 hours, 93 late for A321 RP-C9933. This will delay the returning PR212.

PR209 to MEL has beetter punctuality but on Friday 22 is arriving half an hour late at 0900 hours partly due to a hold on approach, as many aircraft are having to contend with. Aircraft is A333 RP-C8789.

PR207, the late afternoon MNL - MEL, has diverted twice via DVO in the past week, presumably for the A321neo to take on additional fuel. This leads to a typical two hour delay for PR208 early next morning back to MNL. At present PR207/PR208 only seem to be an A333 on Sunday nights and Monday mornings respectively, but PR209/PR210 remain widebody A333s.

RP-C9936 on PR214, the 0600 hours SYD - MNL on Monday 25 February 2019 was airborne at 1007 so arrival will be a projected 1526, 251 late.

A321 RP-C9934 on PR208, the 0550 hours Saturday 2 March 2019 MEL - MNL was in the sky at a delayed 0802 hours. A 1250 hours arrival, 105 minutes late is the likely resut.

Having diverted to DVO last night for refuelling, PR207 ex MNL had arrived in MEL at 0549 hours, 104 late, explaining the delay to the northbound. These A321s seem to often need refuelling southbound in DVO. Is this seasonal winds that will not be a problem for some of the year for a flight of this range with this A321neo aircraft?

Friday 8 March 2019 has seen PR212, the 1150 hours SYD - MNL taking off at 1300. RP-C9936 (A321neo) should arrive at 1803, 73 late.

On Friday night, 22 March 2019, PR207 operated normally from MNL to MEL with RP-C8784 taking off at 1639 (ahead of its pushback time of 1645 so it must have done the latter quite early) to arrive in MEL on Saturday 23 at 0334,. 31 minutes early.

However PR208, the return leg at 0550 hours ex MEL was cancelled. I don't know if there as a problem with the plane, or a crew member went off sick. Aircraft appears to still be in MEL.

A333 RP-C8783 on PR210, Sunday 24 March 2019 as the 1015 hours MEL - MNL was airborne at 1128. Likely arrival is 1603, 33 late.

Sister RP-C8784 (see the previous post) that had been delayed in MEL operated PR208D, taking off at 0307 on Sunday 24 (yuk!) and arriving MNL at 0759 hours, 21 hours late.

PR207 on MOnday 25 March 2019 (MNL - MEL) arrived at 0435, half an hour late but the return PR208, the 0550 hours did not become airborne until 0754. A333 RP-C8783 is expected to arrive MNL at about 1240 hours, 95 late.

A333 RP-C8789 on PR210, the 0900 hours MEL - MNL (Sunday 31 March) was in teh sky at 1039, so arrival has become a suggested 1515 hours, 35 late.

On Thursday 4 April 2019, PR212 (1130 hours SYD - MNL, A321 RP-C9936 was airborne at 1227 hours. Arrival should be at around 1723, 63 late.

Thursday 4 April 2019's PR209, the 2000 hours MNL - MEL redeye did not take off until 2250. The inevitable result is that on Friday 5, its arrival (A333 RP-C8789) should be at 0943, 143 minutes late. This will delay the 0900 hours MEL - MNL, PR210, to at least 1100 in its pushback.

Saturday 6 April's PR209 (RP-C8786, the 2000 hours MNL down to MEL) did not take off until 2254. On Sunday 7, arrival should be at 0847, 147 minutes behind schedule. This will delay the 0800 hours PR210 back to MNL until at least 1005 in pushback.

PR212 (1030 hours SYD - MNL, A321 RP-C9936) was airborne at 1244 hours so its arrival is estimated as 1841, 111 late.

UPDATE: PR210 did not take off until 1131 hours, so arrival is likely at 1709, 159 late.

PR213 (A321, the 1115 hours MNL down to SYD) was in the sky at 1220 so arrival is at about 2216, 76 late due to adverse winds.
