Physical QFF Card Not Working

It’s ok. All cards say that but doesn’t mean you have to activate it.

No, I have a plain card, no indication of 'Money' anywhere on it, per my request years ago.

I just called and was assured that it would be re-issued 'automatically' on 25th (I assume August), without 'Money' on it.

Well, I think I can guess how that is going to go.

Well MrP has no money attached to it, ever, and it mentions the activate for money. It’s on the sticker when you get the new card. And which looks identical to mine which does have money attached.
 
I have not yet received an email from QF indicating my physical card is invalid (I guess I'll have to wait and see). The card itself was requested by yours truly a few months ago via the QF website (there is a section under profile where you can request the card). My Gold card is valid through Nov 30, 2023. I suspect that when I qualify for World Platinum I will receive a new member package in the mail with QFF Q-tags, a membership card and a letter from Uncle Alan.

One thing I will mention is the prior QFF Gold card I had (which expired Nov 30, 2022) had a physical chip whereas this new card doesn't and just seems to have a barcode and mag stripe.

Ah ... I was thinking about what they looked like when they first came out ... there was a 'Mastercard' on the back, chip, with its own mag strip, logo etc.

It’s the activation thing that distinguishes them. Don’t activate then it doesn’t happen

They still do have all the MC stuff in the back. Well, every QFF card I’ve had since 2014 has had it - with QF money activated.

Note: I activated QF money early on - not that I use that - but it does seem to ensure delivery of a physical card each year. Even during Covid!
 
That’s the same as me. It’s the Money thing that causes it. You’ll have to call up.

I haven't used the Travel Money card for at least 5 years, and in fact I explicitly closed it some time ago.

Have sent an email to the QFF service centre...

Did you close it or just removed all money?
 
Hmm - don't remember, but I'm fairly sure I closed it. I didn't have a physical card at all for the last few years.
There is or used to be an explicit way to activate / deactivate the QF Money feature of the card but damned if I can find it in the Money App, QFF app nor QF website….

BTW, when I click through to request a new card, I hit a dead-end also. Just the report lost or stolen card by telephone….
 
I'm WP and haven't gotten a new physical card since 2019. I don't use Qantas Money however.
Me too. No physical card. At least the message didn't ask for credit card details or passwords!

My understanding is that when you qualify for a new status level (i.e. when I qualify for Platinum later this year) you should receive a package in the mail with Q-Tags and a physical card. However, once you attain a status level (i.e. Platinum), you won't receive a new physical card when you re-qualify. However, there is an option to request a new physical card in the profile section of the Qantas site, and you should be able to request the card upon the start of a new membership year.

I receive a new card every year. I believe because I have QF Money activated.

Bag tags are once only but you can request replacements from time to time.

A replacement card has been reissued and will be with you within 3 weeks.

In the meantime, we encourage you to use your digital membership card. To access it, simply open the Qantas App and select ‘My QFF’, then tap the card icon on the top right-hand corner of the screen.

Rest assured the Qantas Points you earned from scanning your card at bp during this time will be added to your Frequent Flyer account within 10 business days.

Same here - but for Mrs PEG they only mention that she can request a new card. Maybe because lowly Silver???

I still got them during *that* period. I thought I hadn‘t received them but I was checking something and noticed that I have a complete set going back a long time. Although I still haven’t received my current member year (Aug-Jul24).

It seems the first batch of people were told the replacement was automatic, and now there’s a second batch which says they have to request it.

That said, it was 21 days yesterday and no sign of the replacement card yet. I’ll give them a call Monday.
