Platinum 1 Status Now Shows When You Log On

It's a nice touch that when you make Platinum2 you get your own private URL. Mine is www.qantas.com.au/moody but apparently everyone else who tries it (apart from my 3 PA's of course) just gets a 404 error as if the page doesn't exist. Those clever website gurus!


Not much point logging on to be honest - whenever a flight looms Qantas sends over the "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" team to sort out my wardrobe for the trip and give me the full spa treatment. Then they carry me to the limo and from there it's straight to the front right hand door of the plane and into the Jason Recliner at the back of the coughpit. Apparently I have a passport but I haven't seen it for years (just like the F/J/Y cabins).

Just booked BNE to LHR in December in J and noted that the system has auto allocated my fave A380 J seats in the front cabin. Previously to get those seats I would normally have to manually select them via manage my booking. Nice touch (unless just rando luck).

At the moment will not say Platinum 1 or Platinum, just OW Eemerald for all you DYKWIA's out there.

At P3 you don't actually have to travel yourself unless you want to. Qantas allocate a certain number of minions to travel for you instead.

So it's really CL3WP4 everyone should target. That's when you get party pies named after you, along with WAKWTI (We All Know Who That Is).

That's true (at least the BP part). The manifest has FFPO instead of FFPL, although I dont think most crew members know about P1 yet.

Did notice today that seat selection is now available, any seat in Y or J (depending on your booked class) is available for selection for flights booked for the next 2 months out.

I'm AKL-SYD-LAX from 6am tomorrow, 1st day of P1 - so we'll see what's different onboard.

Alas, in SEA & flying sea ord dfw sfo lax akl bne in a couple of days on UA & not AA?QF as I had planned. Because I missed my BNE SYD DFW I'm not in the J seat going home on 9/11 either.

Have been offered a return domestic flight or return trans Tasman flight for inconvenience.

Will be interesting to hear from any P1's over the next couple of days of their experiences, to see if they notice anything different such as a friendlier welcome, able to easily make changes, op ups, etc.

Also the race is on for the first card to surface.
