Just arrived into LAX on 107 - first flight as P1.

Showed on boarding pass, and I did note a few things:-

- P1 can access 'blocked' seats.
- No shadow, despite many others in the cabin.
- Absolutely no welcome at all onboard (maybe it was the crew).
- Lounge staff @ TBIT didn't understand the status, asked for my card.

I remember at the P1 lunch that host on arrival was a P1 benefit too?

So far I see zero value. A few more flights this week (already in highest class so no upgrade chances).

Trippin - cpl of questions:

1/ what class were you in and what seat did you access/select that was otherwise blocked.

2/ I've found that arriving into LAX before, the Host is waiting at the carousel (guarding the F tagged bags after pulling them off the carousel for you). Did you notice them here?

3/ how full was the cabin?

It does show to crew and in the check-in system. Comes up as 'Platinum One' and also 'Chairmans One'.

I can CONFIRM that the manifest does state "CLPO"

My boarding pass still was One World EmeraldCL

As for special service/attention........... It all seemed the same to me.

If you call the P1 special number from your mobile/landline number on your profile there is no need to input your FF number.... Been like that with CL for as long as I have been a member.

Matthias liked that he was upgraded last week. We are both in F for the rest of our brief trip to UK tomorrow so I don't think it would make a difference.

Not off to a good start.......... Need to link my daughters booking to mine for an upcoming flight, ran the P1 special services team at 6.30pm and the call was first diverted, then went unanswered and went to a voice mail, asking me to leave my details............... Not quiet the "Personal Touch" I was expecting.

Flying MEL - AKL - SYD - SIN - LHR - SIN - MEL all in the next 8 days...... (J, J, F, F, F, F) My PA is on separate pnr so I will be interested in his views.

I will let you know.

I just realised something. Given how you fly (or rather the classes that you fly), I feel sorry for you..... having never received an op-up in your life

Oh how my heart bleeds for you

Will be interesting to hear from any P1's over the next couple of days of their experiences, to see if they notice anything different such as a friendlier welcome, able to easily make changes, op ups, etc.

Also the race is on for the first card to surface.

First time travelling as a P1 today. Basic commute SYD-MEL-SYD. Both boarding passes (SYD valet and MEL lounge desk) just show OWE only. No P1. No change. Shadow seat yes, but that's not unusual. Welcomed by name in SYD (usual Plat. treatment), not in MEL. No Op Up, plenty of J seats both ways. Can't see any difference just yet.

Maybe next week's SYD-LAX will be different in some way although I always book in F for international flights so not sure what else I could expect. Not sure how this new level will actually benefit me in the future.

No card yet, never got "that call" either......

I have not ever had an op-up. But I do not exactly give myself any chance to!

Maybe I should try domestic "Y" just to see what happens??

Arrived in from AKL...... A few flights have been delayed. (We are heading to MEL)

I was on the 10pm flight but when we arrived at the lounge were offered our usual seats in row 1. Not bad........ But especially good when I saw our sequence numbers were 349 and 350!!!

They also held the same seats for the final flight.

To me.... That is great service.

Hi Woxlee

I was told (or read somewhere) that the WP1 SSE's only work during CBR business hours and that after hours calls are diverted to a lucky SSE's mobile for urgent matters.

I don't know why they seemingly encourage us to call at any time - the 'welcome' message online says: "We're on call to offer assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.". I guess the key words are "on call".

Forgive me for not knowing, but what does a high (or low) sequence number mean?

It is the order of check-in sequence. If you are the first person checked in for the flight (which could conceivably be done online 24 hours out, or at a previous port on the trip, or simply at the desk on the day) you are Seq #001. If you are the 49th person to check in you are Seq #049.

Edit: Or so I thought. The 349/350 sequences quoted above have me thinking maybe it is not what I thought.

FYI

I don't know if anyone else has posted.

This is my son's welcome pack.

Nothing has changed for me except on the manifest!!

Called the "Special Service" number this afternoon (after 5pm) - was left on hold for more than 5 minutes :(

....gave up, called Platinum line: hold time: 2 seconds. Great service. But what is the point of having the number - maybe overflow them to Platinum if really busy?

My partner has just made the Plat 1 level - and now has his review date showing 2013, rather than 2012. Is this the experience of others who have become Plat 1?
