I don't look at my phone during the night if a message comes through. I just leave it to the morning.

After another name search, and 3 security questions the offending flight was found (it was an A47)! It was a change I'd been sent an email about WEEKS AGO

OT: I am on A47 in May.... any major problems or a minor change to the flights??

I am similar: my phone stays on vibrate all the time and I leave it down stairs when I go to bed. Unfortuneatly the wife is usually on call every week in her job so getting distrubed during the night is not unusual.

Back slightly on-topic, I have never got a notification for a delayed or re-timed DJ/VA flight (and I have had a few of those). I do recall getting one from Rex for a 1hr delayed departure time for a 6am flight that I received at 10pm, but even though Rex claim that they do it - it isn't done reliably/consistently.

At least the Rex sms notification gave some useful information in the message along the lines of:

"Passengers of ZL123 BHQ-SYD on 17Jan are advised that scheduled departure of 0630am has amended departure time of 0800am, Rex apologise for delay etc"

Tripadvisor although not as great with au flights, still is pretty good with advising of delays, gate changes etc.
