Points Club - new bonuses and benefits!

The main thing, I think, is zero devaluation here IMO. So everything, no matter how useful or not for individual members is a positive in my book.
I agree, it's a nice to have. We generate enough points through our credit card use to get into Points Club, so we're not chasing anything in particular. But getting status credits on reward flights is a nice bonus as I tick ever closer to LTG

The 2,500 bonus milestone points is very underwhelming. I'd much rather some bonus SC! Speaking of which, the little DSC offer is, however, useful. That should happen more often for points club members!! Qantas did say the points club is about those who get lots of points on the ground - well the obvious thing is to convert those 'grounders' to 'flyers' and DSC is an obvious mechanism.

This (my bolding) is what it's all about, for me! I don't know that I will ever use any other PC benefit.

In normal times I had been flying QF in Y for business to Asia a few times a year, maybe once to the U.S., and upgrading wherever I could using points. If I booked a sale fare, this meant just 30 SCs on the Asia segments, in either direction... the mystery of whether I would get an upgrade, and then then a 54,500 QFF point hit each way if I was successful.

With Points Club, I plan to try and book J awards to Asia with 68,400 QFF points and about $200 in taxes... and get a confirmed business seat from the get-go, plus 48 SCs in either direction. I just need to figure out how our company reimburses for using personal miles. There is some documentation we have on that somewhere. They would definitely pay the taxes, and I'm really only out the difference between upgrades and a confirmed U ticket; so 13,900 QFF points per segment to/from Asia.

Now... if there was only some international travel to use this on! :)

Cheers,
Matt.

Just received my $100 Qantas Hotels voucher email, it was hidden in my Gmail promotions tab so you may need to go hunting for it. T&C:

Points Club Plus members will receive a $100 Qantas Hotels voucher for each Membership Year they attain Points Club Plus. Vouchers will be sent within 21 days of attaining Points Club Plus. You must have a valid email address and be opted in to receive 'Exclusive offers for Qantas Frequent Flyer Members' email marketing to receive the voucher. If the email address is shared across multiple accounts, all accounts linked to the email must be opted in to receive 'Exclusive offers for Qantas Frequent Flyer Members' email marketing to receive the voucher. Qantas Hotels vouchers can only be used towards part, or full payment of hotel bookings made through qantas.com and excludes Airbnb bookings. Only one unique voucher code can be used per transaction, and cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion. If there is a balance remaining to be paid, you must pay this balance with a credit/charge card. The voucher can only be used in one transaction and any unused portion of the voucher will be forfeited. The voucher must be used to make a booking within 12 months of the issue date, otherwise it will be forfeited. Vouchers are not exchangeable or redeemable for cash or other goods or services. Vouchers may be transferred, but are not valid if sold. The value of the voucher will not be refunded and no replacement voucher will be issued when cancelling a booking. If you change or cancel a booking, any hotel fee amount will be deducted from the amount paid by you, up to a maximum of the amount originally paid by you. The hotel fee cannot be paid using the voucher value.

Also just received my $100 Qantas Hotels voucher for Points Club Plus. I attained the status earlier on this year so looks like they are starting to send out the various benefits to existing members now.

A couple of things from the T&Cs. The voucher is valid for 12 months from date of issue with no minimum spend. And for people freshly attaining Points Club / Plus status, it states that your voucher will be sent to you within 21 days of attaining the status as long as you have opted in for 'Exclusive offers for Qantas Frequent Flyer Members' emails.

As sudoer pointed out this bit of the t&cs seems a bit rough, especially in those uncertain time. Not too impressed by this.

The value of the voucher will not be refunded and no replacement voucher will be issued when cancelling a booking

Agreed
How many points club plus members wouldn't have access to the lounge anyway
There would be few. I have all of 82 status credits this membership year and I am only 120000 points short of PCP - with 4 months to go. There are plenty of us with high spend/ high card churn who don't fly a lot. I am not going to go out of my way to qualify for PCP, but if I planned to fly more next year I would.

EXCLUSIVE OFFER - Offer expires: 20 Jan 2025

- Earn up to 200,000 bonus Velocity Points*
- Enjoy unlimited complimentary access to Priority Pass lounges worldwide
- Earn up to 3 Citi reward Points per dollar uncapped

I assume not, but would nights booked via Qantas hotels count towards elite qualification with IHG? In my experience they haven't when booking through travel agents for Hilton (benefits denied too) so wanted to ask. (possibly not the place but I just got my $100 voucher too)

I'd strongly assume not. Which is exactly why I find all those Qantas hotel promotions (and vouchers) woefully useless. I might use my voucher if I happen to end up in some sleepy nest that neither has a Hyatt nor Hilton nor Marriott. Dunedin or Invercargill come to mind, in case I happen to return now that the border to Australia is open again...

Don't think so. Online travel agent.
19. Points will be awarded for Qualifying Stays booked through IHG’s central reservation offices, IHG web sites, the IHG App, authorized travel agents (excluding online travel agents such as Expedia.com and booking.com, and unauthorized agents on online vertical travel portals), or directly at the hotel.

My hotel voucher arrived today, didnt see the wine one but i already have a Qantas Wine membership via of one of my credit cards.

I going to be cutting it fine to requalify for points club before my anniversary, as think I've left it too late to churn another card. If i miss out, should requalify in first month of the next FF year anyway.

Same here - hotel voucher arrived, but no wine voucher.
Likewise I don't think I will requalify for points club this membership year, and I'm certainly not going to chase it.

Hotel voucher received and used (for tomorrow in ADL).

Nice timing...

I have not received any vouchers :(
Have checked and double checked that my profile requests all emails.
My year ends 30 June.
I am currently points Plus, and only 1012 points short to qualify for Plus again for the coming year.
So that means that I have already qualified for Club for next year.
I just dont see that the system would be smart enough to hold out for another week or so until I re qualify for Plus.

Feeling left out......
