The Minimum Points Guarantee means that it's 800 points irrespective of status level.

That is such BS. Nice move Qantas! Way to reward us for striving for higher status!

On SYD-BNE, the minimum points guarantee is 800 pts for discount economy, so it shouldn't matter whether you maintain WP or not. Everyone's points earning is reduced by 20% for NOQ fares on that route.
Syd-adl caught out by the change from 0-600m to 0-750m for the first zone.
Bracket creep
What's the point is status anyway. It makes no difference. While flights in Australia are easy to book on points (with somewhat outrageous surcharges), international flights in business and particularly first are now non- existent. Anyone want few million points? No use for booking international flights at all. Although we've been loyal to Qantas for many many years, even if it costs more, maybe time to look at other airlines such as Emirates for OS flights and upgrades. Sad outcomes for Australian airlines.
Yes, you will earn Status credits if a QF flight number appears on your ticket, and your booking class is N/O/Q/X/G/K/L/M/S/V.Sorry stupid question but just wanted to double check before booking - if I book a current Qantas sale fare that is on EK metal but a QF codeshare flight number it still attracts SC right?

Sure ... You can see them online - just click the Business tab on the sales page.
Just inquisitive...are sale fares related to economy only? I have seen saver fares in PE. Not sure about Business.
There are business sale fares as well. The ones I've given previously are for economy. Discount business is D/I/U.Thanks. I asked as few posts back (#34) I read the following classes:
N/O/Q/X/G/K/L/M/S/V
