Yes Bosox.
I booked a EK metal QF code flight CHC to SYD to ADL and got 25 and (10 plus 5) on sale fare.
5 extra as booking was prior to Mar notice of enhancements.

We're starting to see the plus 5 SCs coming into our accounts for pre March bookings:)

Nice to see that +, but in the back of my head though, I know that in a few months for me, few weeks for some, that nice + will stop appearing.
Moaning about it still, yeah, but why 800 points? I would have been happy if the min points guarantee was 1000, or the change to 800, but SC earnings stayed at prior to 01 Jul rates. Why min of 10SC? Why be so mean to those who pay your wages and salaries?
At least VA has a 5 points per $1 spent, and assuming fares are $79 (min) x 5 = thats 395, but its rare for QF to get so low a fare.

The earn for short domestic flights is 400 - minimum points pushed this to 800.

Other than that, domestically Qantas seem to be just emulating Velocity somewhat for points earn.

The minimum points earn for short domestic flights is 400 - WP get the 800 with the status based min earn.

Qantas are just somewhat emulating Velocity for points earn domestically.

I think I would phrase that differently. The earn on short domestic is 400 for disc Y and Y. The minimum points guarantee is 800. So all short domestic flights will be given 800 regardless of status level. Yes, it kind of offends me that I earn 800 outright as a platinum, but the earning calculator tells me the minimum points guarantee has been applied.

Yep - posting with a small screen obscured by a touch keypad has its issues ...

Effectively, the minimum earn has been reduced from 1000 to 800.

That what a Velocity WP gets with a short domestic $80 fare ...

If I was a real angry mutt, I would be barking my head off at QF non stop.
I will bear with the changes, BUT that does not mean I am happy with the enhancements.
VA could win me over 1000 % if they improved or enhanced even just 50 %.
Less CC surcharge, maybe even a snack on SaverLite, taking off the opaque window coverings at VA PER lounge, maybe something apart from all day breakfasts (!!!) in the VA lounge...

Aren't you already "barking your head off at QF non stop" on this forum?

Yea.
Sorry.
And its not as if QF cares.
Come to think of it, my moans are a waste of time and space, really.
Probably time to lay if off, and get back to real life.

Back OT, just got 2900 points and 20 SC for SYD - PER discount Y. (And 1077 points and a case of wine for $77). Think the latter is better value

Someone smart would have made the zone 1 Dom 550 pts, with 800 minimum. Still a difference to flex y but gold 825 and plat 1100

Yes, you will earn Status credits if a QF flight number appears on your ticket, and your booking class is N/O/Q/X/G/K/L/M/S/V.

Hi there - excuse my ignorance, I thought you got SC with any OneWorld airline?

Or are emirates not OW?

Emirates isn't a OW airline so if an EK flight number appears on your ticket you will earn only points, no Status credits.

Status credits are earned on all OW airlines, plus Fiji Airways and Jetstar when an Economy Starter Plus, Economy Starter Max or Business Max fare has been purchased.

You can view a summary of earning points with partner airlines here.

Thanks. Toying up various options of travel to europe next year. Thinking J in Qatar might be a goer, so good to know SC will be earnt

Just bear in mind that the Status credit earn rates differ depending on which airline's code appears on your flight booking. You earn the most with QF-coded flights (the flight can be operated by another airline, it just has to have a QF flight number on the ticket).

Thanks - Qatar don't allow QF coding - however looking at various sale fares - the difference is upward of $1500 in cost. Happy to forego the extra SC to save the coin. I only do enough travel to just maintain silver - so even if i got the extra SC, I might make gold for one year and then lose it.

Not only that, QF and EK go crazy with the taxes/surcharges on a J flight when booking on points, Qatar is far more reasonable.

I have about 10 more single flights with QF to go, all booked prior to end of Mar this year.
I dont hold any hope of getting bonus 5/10 SC for these 10 flights, some within Aust and some TT.

don't give up hope yet. Working for us so far

Looks like I managed to snag a flight not earning the extra 5 x SCs on the AU / NZ run.
Yet I'm 99% sure both booked into the 'heading' on the QF booking page. Sigh. But it may have been my just wanting to get what should be a very simple booking done and dusted as quickly as possible.

What I want is to be able to select the QF fare as I am comparing, then it tell me how many SCs I will earn. In theory the booking engine knows where I am coming from & going to and as status is irrelevant to SC earning, it should be easy with a database look-up?
