Hi,

Random question. We are gifting a pram to someone. I’m flying to their city domestically for work. I know of course you allowed a pram with an accompanying child.
I’m SG and will have a checked in luggage with baby clothes and toys too.
I think I would be able too.

Thanks

Well the obvious question that might get asked by any QFF staff is "where's the infant/child ticket" ?

That you have baby items in your checked bags won't make any difference, and be prepared to have to check the pram in as "oversized", but you certainly wont be the first to travel with a pram, but perhaps one of the few to do it without the accompanying child.

I would suggest they go to the ‘oversized baggage’ counter. If their other luggage is within their limits, it should be acceptable, as was my professionally wrapped art works, and in the end, all of my items came out together at the end of the flight - first on the carousel…

Will be considered oversized (if exceeding regular dimensions as packaged), and will be part of your checked allowance (no extra allowance without accompanying child).

If boxed up should be fairly straightforward provided you meet the weight / piece restrictions on your entitlement (or have to pay excess if exceeding this). I’ve certainly done this from the US back to Aus.

I know of a husband and wife who travelled with their clothing HLO (and checked in 4 alloy wheels and tyres all individually boxed and therefore within their combined checked allowance or 2pcs ea max 23kg ea - no issue).

Thanks all.
I’ll try see if I can fold it and squeeze it in one of my bags. 🤣 or just pay the extra and avoid an empty bag coming back with me.

Thanks

Find a cardboard bike box and combine pram and clothes in one oversized item. Your extra SG baggage allowance will cover that and additional baggage. Leave box at other end to make a great toy for a toddler.
