Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

A quick look at QF1 on 1/11/21 on EF shows over 30 seats selected so far, but the return QF2 has 32 selected in J alone (over 100 across all 3 classes)! Looks like the expats are champing at the bit.

View attachment 262226Try as I might I can’t find much about AP response to the announcement yesterday and what it meant for Qlders stranded overseas/family reunions ….actionable information did not appear to come from this pop up clinic today …🤔except maybe vigorous debate about the correct order ????bread-sauce-sausage-onion..

Surprised she’s eating one of those mystery saturated fat laden pieces of animal carcass given how bad they are for the CHILDREN that she was previously so worried about 🤪, what a terrible example 😂

I should subscribe to EF again! Hasn’t been worth it for 18 months.

I let mine lapse as well :)

Ah. That was you. I knew there was an AFF’er impacted. Hope you are fully recovered. I reckon @Flashback had Covid too back in January 2020 but not diagnosed back then.
Thanks. Very lucky. Mild cold. No after effects and most importantly no one else in the household or anyone else as far as I can tell became infected as a result.

Now to move back into planning phase rather than the dreaming phase that we have been in since March 2020.

Browsing for some likely flight alternatives and it appears that there is a little more CX and JAL award flight starting to appear in QFF.

Looking for flights FCO - SYD later next year and there is some QTR J availability but the Doha-Sydney leg is routed through Jakarta with the final CKG-SYD leg on Qantas. Strange.

I made a rule when Covid started that I would keep all my travel related subscriptions going to support them until things pick up. I also started supporting a travel youtuber (Josh Cahill) via Patreon until I could fly internationally again.

EF has actually been useful, especially back when domestic borders were open but flights were scarce. I've used it quite a bit.

I am freeloading, watching other people's plane videos on YT.
But giving them all "likes" so at the least they gain a bit.

So Singapore Airlines have now released what they are calling their FEPO flights to SYD from 1 Nov. People from Europe will be pleased to see fares that are "normal" for this time of year $2k AUD return LHR-SYD.

Note though awards not available for another week ....

From 01 November 2021, all Singapore Airlines flights to Sydney are ‘For Eligible Passengers Only' (FEPO) flights. While these FEPO flights can already be booked using cash, they can only be redeemed with miles starting 23 October 2021.
